Scientifically, if one were to test the claim AI can make a good game, one must instead test the null hypothesis which states that there is no evidence that AI can make a good game and see if your results have a p-value below your alpha (<0.05) across many samples.
I’ve said it before (and I’d been too busy to start), but I’ve half a mind to start a YouTube channel breaking down writing for games and game design in general, from an academic perspective.
We need better game development education. On this, I already have something in motion.

It’s really weird to idolize someone so deep and defensively that despite their role in the creation, direction, and oversight of content, everything you like was definitely by them and them only and everything you dislike obviously was out of their hands and by someone else.
I really wish I could talk about the pitched narratives and storylines I wanted to write but was held back from.
On one hand there are a lot of cool aspects (great casting, high production quality), but this trailer makes me wonder (and worry) if the director made a film for her own taste or for what the source material deserves. This trailer gives me Taika Waititi Thor vibes.
Update: This feeling hit a wall once I reached max level (currently 45).
The endgame feels more like a gacha game than an MMO. Deterministic progression feels kneecapped by energy/ticket systems that rate-limit gameplay.
This might be an uninstall soon. Good thing it was F2P.
Last night, I let Youtube Mix take the wheel, and it served me 80's and 90's bangers back-to-back while I cleared dungeons and quested in Aion 2. Had a great time. I miss MMO grinds like that.

It is possible to point out that cliché wording from modern-era political discourse feels immersion-breaking against the backdrop of 2004-era fantasy writing, without having to attack any demographics.
There are alternative ways to write this dialogue and make the same point.
We are approaching an inevitable day when a game that portrays itself as originally developed is discovered to be an AI-modded overhaul of another commercially sold game and sparks a high-profile lawsuit.
