As Omicron recedes in NYC, the benefit of the vaccines is so incredibly clear.
They prevented infections.
And reduced hospitalizations A LOT.
And drastically lowered the likelihood of dying from Covid.
This wave was tough. Without the vaccines, it would’ve been so much worse. – at Manhattan, NY

Latest on Moderna booster with omicron, clearly of great benefit. Misinfo from conservative news outlets claim vaccines do nothing vs infection and therefore mandates have no scientific basis. Not true, vaccines do reduce infection as well as disease.

When I leave a patient room I often say: “I’m going to click on some boxes on the computer, and your nurse will be back to do all of the work”
So many are burnt out and leaving us right now. I’m not sure we’ll be able to recover. Tell a nurse how much they’re appreciated.
Senate Bill 871, by state Sen. Richard Pan (D-Sacramento), would add COVID-19 vaccines to California's list of required inoculations for attending K-12 schools, which can be skipped only if a student receives a rare medical exemption. Important public health message and action.

We in public health fought for teachers to be prioritized for vaccines.
Vaccines + boosters protect very well against severe illness to omicron. Wearing a high quality mask further protects you.
Teachers unions: Please stop the delays. We need all schools to be in-person, now.
