British Columbians are about to be handed a political opportunity that almost never exists in modern democracy. For once, this election does not have to be a contest between two personalities. It can be something much more fundamental: a referendum on the government itself. Forget for a moment who the alternative Premier might ultimately be. That question can come later. The question immediately before British Columbians is simpler: after looking at the last several years, at our finances, affordability, housing, health care, public safety, economic growth and the opportunities available to our children are we satisfied with the direction of this province, or do we want a different one? That is an extraordinary way to hold an election. The Conservatives enter it with an interim leader who, under the party’s constitution, cannot subsequently seek the permanent leadership. So the usual personality contest has, at least partly, been stripped away. First comes a judgment on the government and the direction of British Columbia. Then comes an entirely separate political debate about who should lead the alternative and what that next chapter should look like. Whatever your politics, think about how rare that is. British Columbia has everything it needs to be one of the most prosperous, dynamic and hopeful places anywhere in North America. Extraordinary natural resources. Brilliant entrepreneurs. World-class cities and communities. Access to the Pacific. Talented people who still believe deeply in what this province can become. This election gives British Columbians an unusually clear opportunity to ask whether we’re realizing that potential. Not who has the better slogan. Not who won the debate. Not which personality we like more. Where are we going? Is it working? And what do we want British Columbia to become? An incumbent government normally gets to run against another person. This time, it may find itself running against something much bigger: the public’s judgment of its record and its hopes for the future. That could make this one of the purest referendums on the direction of an incumbent government that we have seen anywhere in North America in a very long time. What an extraordinary opportunity for British Columbia. Bring it on.

Most broker-owners I know, have a good handle what their brokerage earns. Far fewer know what it actually keeps. Across 52,256 recently closed transactions, we found that brokerages retain roughly 15 cents of every commission dollar before paying for staff, technology, compliance, marketing and everything else it takes to run the business. So the question isn’t really “How much GCI are we doing?” It’s “What are we retaining per transaction, and is it enough?” I dug into the numbers, the benchmarks, and the metrics broker-owners should actually be watching in this post. If you're serious about growing your bottom line you'll find some interesting metrics to watch and insights we found in our data set. zurl.co/5JtOD Let me know if I missed something that you're keeping an eye on.

When evaluating back-office platforms, ask one question about their AI: “Can I use it today, or is it coming soon?” Because there’s a big difference between: AI that’s live in the product AI that’s sitting on a roadmap A chatbot that answers questions but doesn’t actually help you run the business. At Loft47, AI is live, So when you’re comparing platforms, don’t just ask what AI they plan to build. Ask what you can actually use today. That answer might change your shortlist.

I’ve been flooded with questions on what the consolidation of our industry means for broker owners in Real Estate. What impact do these large brand acquisitions have on brokerage operations, technology and ultimately their sovereignty? We’ve seen a high level of uncertainty among our colleagues and an inclination to lay low and pause big decisions until the dust settles. But when it comes to ownership of your financial data, it’s the right time to pay attention. Back office or transaction management solutions, like Loft47, host and maintain high volumes of transactional and financial performance data. This isn't abstract information. It's the complete picture of how your business performs. Not owning your data or unwittingly sharing it with a group that could become a competitor or your franchisor can cripple your ability to scale, sell or negotiate a favourable franchise agreement. I took a deeper dive on the subject in this blog post zurl.co/lutE0 If you are a broker owner wondering how to protect your data and your interests, take a few minutes to read it over.

With Loft AI doesn't replace your back-office team, It replaces the worst parts of their job. The endless data entry. The manual error checking. The reconciliation. The spreadsheets that have to be checked twice because one small mistake can create a much bigger problem. That’s not where your best people should be spending their time. At Loft47, we see AI as a force multiplier for your back office, not a replacement for it. Let AI handle the repetitive, error-prone work so your team can focus on what actually matters: *Building stronger agent relationships *Keeping compliance oversight where it belongs * Solving exceptions that require human judgment * Making strategic decisions that move the brokerage forward Because the goal isn’t fewer people. It’s more capacity from the people you already have. AI should take work off your team’s plate, not take your team off the payroll.

Our AI Assistant caught a $4,200 commission discrepancy last week that would have been paid out wrong. That’s the kind of AI value that matters. Not flashy features. Not another chatbot. Not a demo that looks good on LinkedIn. Just an AI Assistant quietly checking the details across deals and catching the errors humans can miss when they’re processing 50+ transactions a month. One discrepancy caught = $4,200 saved, and that’s just one deal.AI doesn’t have to replace your team to create value, Sometimes, it just needs to catch what everyone else missed.

How to go from 3-day commission payouts to same-day and what it does for agent retention. Every brokerage wants to attract and retain great agents. But when commission payouts take days, questions pile up, manual work slows the process, and confidence in the back office starts to slip. Before: • Commission calculations were largely manual. • Payouts took up to three days. • The accounting team spent valuable time answering payment questions and correcting discrepancies. this process just isn't scalable. it's time to automate commission management with Loft47. After: ✔ Same-day commission payouts ✔ Automated calculations with greater accuracy ✔ Less administrative work for the back office ✔ More transparency for agents The biggest win isn't just saving time. It's creating a faster, more reliable experience that helps build trust with agents, because when agents know they'll be paid accurately and quickly, they're free to focus on serving clients instead of chasing commission updates. Every operational improvement sends a message to your agents about the kind of brokerage you are. #RealEstate #Brokerage #CommissionManagement #PropTech #RealEstateTechnology

Every software company says **"AI-powered"** now. Here's our rule: **If you can't show it working in a live brokerage today, it's not a feature—it's a press release.** The real value of AI isn't in the announcement. It's in the workflow. Does it save your accounting team hours? Does it reduce manual tasks? Does it help your brokerage operate more efficiently? If the answer is no, adding "AI" to a landing page doesn't change much. At Loft47, we believe AI should solve real operational problems. That's why our AI Assistant is already live in the platform, helping brokerages streamline back-office work where it matters most. We're less interested in talking about what's "coming soon" and more interested in building tools our customers can use today. The future of brokerage operations won't be defined by who talks the most about AI. It'll be defined by who delivers it.

The best feedback we can receive is hearing that our integrations are making a real difference. At Loft47, we believe your back office should work with the tools you already rely on, not replace them. That's why our integrations are designed to connect your transaction management, accounting, payments, and reporting into one seamless workflow. When everything works together, your team spends less time on manual processes and more time growing the business. A huge thank you to our customers for trusting Loft47 and sharing their experiences. Your success is what drives us every day. #CustomerReview #RealEstateTech #PropTech #WorkflowAutomation #BrokerageOperations #Loft47

The #1 reason brokerages don't switch their back-office system? Fear of the migration. Here's what onboarding with Loft47 actually looks like: → Connect your existing transaction tools → Configure your commission plans → Import historical transaction data → Go live The best part? You don't migrate your financial data. Loft47 works with your existing accounting system, so the riskiest part of switching is no longer part of the process. Modernize your operations; not your headaches.

The real estate industry keeps quoting average agent income as $71,000+. That number is not accurate for most agents. We analyzed 52,256 closed transactions across 39 US states and 6 Canadian provinces. This is real, operational data that includes payouts and actual deductions from the brokerage. No estimates here. The median US agent earned $31,152 last year. The average is more than double the median because a small number of top producers pull it up significantly. The bottom 25% of agents earned under $11,000 for the year. If you're building a recruiting strategy, a compensation model, or an agent retention plan around the $71K figure, you're working from the wrong baseline. The 2026 State of Real Estate Commissions breaks this down by percentile, by market, and by team vs solo agents. It's free to read and there's a PDF at the bottom if you want to share it with your team. zurl.co/mgYRV #RealEstate #BrokerageManagement #AgentIncome #RealEstateBrokerage

Most platforms stop at storing your transactions. Loft47 takes it further. Think of Loft47 as the orchestration layer for your real estate operations—not a walled garden. It connects seamlessly with transaction platforms like Dotloop, SkySlope, and DocuSign, then routes your data where it creates the most value: ➡️ Accounting with QuickBooks Online or Xero ➡️ Analytics with BigQuery and Looker ➡️ Payments with Payload and Zum Rails One connected workflow. Less manual work. Better visibility. More flexibility. Because your tech stack should work together—not in silos. #PropTech #RealEstateTech #WorkflowAutomation #AccountingAutomation #DataIntegration #RealEstateOperations

Everyone said the NAR settlement would compress commission rates. That was wrong. We just published our 2026 State of Real Estate Commissions that we built from 52,256 actual closed transactions across 39 States in the US and 6 Canadian Provinces. This is real payout data from real deals. Here's what it shows: The US median commission rate has been exactly 3.00% for 11 consecutive quarters — including every quarter since August 2024 when the settlement took effect. In Canada the rate actually rose. That's just one finding. The report has many more including what agents actually earn (the median is $31K, not the $71K+ the industry loves to cite), and why brokerages keep just 15 cents of every commission dollar. We ensure we track actual income to the brokerage to distinguish between the total amount of deductions from commissions and those that contribute to the bottom line. We track and report on Brokerage earnings as a percentage of GCI every week to your inbox. That is how seriously we take brokerage profitability. Read the full report: zurl.co/QNdMI PDF download available at the bottom if you want to share it with your team. #RealEstate #BrokerageManagement #CommissionData #RealEstateBrokerage

Your accountant doesn't want to learn another proprietary platform. They want QuickBooks or Xero—the tools they already use—with accurate data flowing in automatically. One of the most overlooked stakeholders in a back-office software decision is the person responsible for the books. When a platform forces your finance team into a new accounting system, you're not just changing software. You're creating retraining, new processes, and unnecessary complexity. Loft47 takes a different approach. Keep the accounting tools your team already knows. Get the operational benefits of a modern back office without disrupting finance.

“AI-powered” has become the easiest claim in proptech. The harder question: Is it actually doing anything inside a brokerage today? There’s a big gap between what’s being marketed and what’s being used: Automation dressed up as AI Features that exist in demos, not in production Big promises about replacing teams And then there’s the quieter reality. AI that’s already: Reading deal documents Extracting key data automatically Catching commission errors before they happen That’s the standard we care about at Loft47. Not what AI could do. What it’s already doing. Because the future of AI in real estate won’t be defined by announcements. It’ll be defined by what back-office teams actually use every day. #backofficeautomation #newfeature #loft47 #backofficemadeeasy #aiforbrokers

Some back-office platforms want you to throw away your accounting system. Ask yourself why. A brokerage's accounting platform isn't just another tool. It's tied to tax filings, audits, banking relationships, financial controls, and reporting. Replacing it is expensive, disruptive, and risky. That's why some vendors require proprietary ledgers: once your accounting lives inside their system, switching becomes much harder. Loft47 takes a different approach. We work with the accounting system you already trust, so you can modernize operations without rebuilding your financial foundation.

Every software company says “AI-powered” now. Here’s our rule: if you can’t show it working inside a live brokerage, it’s not a feature — it’s a press release. The bar has quietly dropped in proptech. Slap “AI” on a slide, add a roadmap bullet, maybe demo a prototype… and call it innovation. Meanwhile, back-office teams are still doing the same manual work they were doing 5 years ago.We think that’s a problem. At Loft47, we’ve taken a different approach: No announcements without something real behind them. Our AI Assistant isn’t “coming soon.” It’s already in the product, inside actual brokerages, helping teams: Answer operational questions instantly Surface deal and compliance details without digging Reduce the back-and-forth that slows transactions down Not flashy. Not theoretical. Just useful. Are we excited about AI Agents? Of course. But the credibility to talk about the future comes from shipping something that works today. Because in this market, “AI-powered” shouldn’t mean potential. It should mean in production.

The 1:1s your agents remember are the ones where you walked in already knowing their numbers. Production trends. Split breakdowns. Pipeline health. Where they're growing, where they slipped, what's worth celebrating, what's worth asking about. That level of preparation changes the whole conversation. The problem is the preparation takes 20 to 30 minutes per agent. Most brokerage managers have six to ten 1:1s a week. So either you spend half your Friday gathering, or you walk in without it. Most of us walk in without it. This video shows how to use MCP and Claude to package a coaching-grade 1:1 prep sheet in under a minute. Performance trends, split analysis, production patterns all pulled from your @loft_47 data and shaped into a narrative you can actually walk an agent through. What's worth understanding about MCP here: it doesn't just hand you data. It hands you a conversation. The same numbers Loft47 has always had, organized in the shape of the meeting you're about to have. A report turned into coaching material. Your agents notice when you're prepared. So does your team. So do the agents you're trying to recruit. Watch the build linked in the comments. If you want this running for your team, send me a message.
