It's interesting seeing relatively old laser guided artillery shells now enjoying a new lease of life as widespread and effective Russian jamming has rendered more modern GPS guided munitions like the M982 Excalibur virtually useless.

(1/10) Vasiliy Chobitok recently wrote an article explaining some misconceptions about the T-80UD (478B/BE/D/DU etc.) designations. Basically, the key differentiating point between the 478B and 478D series is the presence of the Shtora/Varta electro-optical jammers.

The Ukrainian BM Oplot (T-84) tanks in service with the AFU have undergone modernizations during the war. In addition to the cope cages, the gunner’s TO1-KO1ER night vision sight has been replaced with new TPN-4E MBT uncooled thermal sight made by Trimen. youtube.com/watch?v=iLW_A-yr…

Nothing too surprising, it’s simply a Ukrainian-mod M1A1 AIM SA. ADoD removed the CWS’ remote thermal sight (RTS) and reworked the TC panel into Ukrainian, while the gunner primary sight TIS still retains the 2GF BICU and 2GF TRU. New antennas indicate a switch to AFU radio set.
