.@Forbes released its 2023 philanthropy scorecard and once again, @johnarnold and @LauraArnoldFdn earned the highest score — a rare 5 — for their charitable giving. Only 11 people from the #Forbes400 have given away more than 20% of their wealth: bit.ly/3RGcRsI

Big PBMs say “Drugmakers alone have the power to set prices.”
Then how is that the same PBM set five different prices for the same drug, at the same pharmacy, on the same day, where the delta between the bookends had an over 10x difference?

Do Plan Sponsors Understand How Their PBMs Make Money?
My $0.02 on how #PBMs' profit model has evolved—and why a plan sponsor can feel satisfied with PBM transparency while remaining unaware of how its PBM actually earns money.

Daily reminder that the insulin I need to survive is still $2,267.99 every 3 months.
Insurance is not the answer to unaffordable insulin, as insurance was the reason it took 23 DAYS to fill this RX. W/o insulin, I’d be dead in 2.
Insulin should be free.

Day 16:
Insurance is still refusing to fill the insulin that keeps me alive.
My “options” are: pay $2,267.99 for a 3-month supply of insulin or die.
This is why insulin PRICES, not copays, must be capped. Insurance is not the answer to the insulin affordability crisis.
Insurance is AGAIN refusing to fill the Humalog insulin that’s kept me alive for 27 years.
I am deathly allergic to the Novolog they want me on.
I HAVE A PRIOR AUTH FOR HUMALOG.
So I pay $2500 out of pocket or I die.
Do I have that right, @CareFirst @CVSHealth?

The "Big 3" insulin makers drew favorable news coverage for "cutting prices to $25/vial."
But a new survey reveals those "cuts" haven't reached most patients.
@t1international: Most patient advocates "have been unable to get the promised $25 insulin."

Americans without health insurance pay an average of $98 for Eli Lilly’s generic insulin despite the company’s May 1 pledge to cut its list price to $25 per vial, according to a survey of more than 300 U.S. pharmacies. aol.com/uninsured-us-patient…

One way to blunt future drug shortages, the economists suggest, is to rework how hospitals purchase medicines. trib.al/Hvr0uVF

We could do a lot to reduce class polarization if highly selective colleges decided that time cards from your fifteen-hour-a-week service job counted higher than athletics, music, summer academic programs or expensive "service" vacations.

When I was in restaurant management in an affluent suburb (that I couldn't afford to live in) it was hard to find teenagers whose parents would let them work.
The prevailing opinion was that they should concentrate on academics and school activities that look good on college app.
