so I guess a summary of party politics in my lifetime is basically: Republicans love cheap labor for higher profit margins until the cheap labor starts voting against them. Democrats love pro-union little guy narratives until the union worker votes to keep more of their money Republicans preach the love of Jesus and traditional Christian morality, then go fuck around on their wives behind their backs, often times with other men. When the women object the husbands either physically abuse them or financially ruin them, often aided and abetted by the churches. Democrats preach that all religions except for Christianity are welcome, and that white Christians are responsible for all of the evils in society (but whatever amoral/immoral perversion is there days cause dé jour is something Jesus would have supported, even though we don't believe in him, take that Wingnats!). unless you're a Catholic minority who votes blue, then you're ok at least every November. My opinions on who is a bigger problem for my day-to-day life are pretty obvious if you pay attention to any of my posts. But holy shit these people suck. there was a time when right-wingers actually lived their faith and left wingers looked out for the American worker, everyone agreed that socialism was economic illiteracy, everyone agreed that there was such a thing as a government that's too big, and we just basically argued around the margins. fortunately, I've been living the last 15 years or so as though these people absolutely suck, the world is going to shit, and I'd better have a plan for when everything fucking implodes, and it's not going to be eating MREs in a shipping container in Montana like the doomsday prepper retards. but my choices in November? I'm choosing between terrible and worse, they're not even slightly bad versus slightly more bad. they fucking suck.
