"But it’s clear now, that we can no longer have him be our sole leader, although I’d love it if we could get him to be among the leaders." is the full sentence. There was no valid reason to cut it short. It's not about "him". It's about "sole". You and everyone else knows that.

He's trying to claim he didn't want to fork or stage a coup, but wrote: “I think it’s time to let go of the cult and change project leadership.” “But it’s clear now, that we can no longer have him be our sole leader” “I’m already talking to several hosts about this, and would welcome anyone who wants to join these conversations, so we’re not duplicating work.” “I’m here, and willing to lead through this transition. I do have the time, the energy and the money needed to fund myself doing it.”

You’re right, me publicly speaking out is risky. Retaliation and/or consequences may come. I hope not. I believe in the mission: democratize publishing the freedom to build. the freedom to change. the freedom to share.

Recent changes to my contribution flow were made so I could contribute safely and take time to consider a larger decision. Update: I'm withdrawing contributions to Core and WordPress.org properties until further notice. More: gist.github.com/costdev/4c25…

I paused my contributions to the WordPress .org project. Why? I’m greatly concerned about the well-being & eroding trust of contributors & users. By contributing, I may unintentionally convey: you’re safe here, you’re valued, users’ trust is safeguarded. 1/2

In light of today's news, since I mentioned in my previous post that I'm a member of the WordPress Security Team, before anyone asks me: No, I was not aware.
