The goal is to fold compliance, permissions, payment references, and valuation controls into a single protocol so institutions can issue tokenized assets without stitching together a patchwork of extra contracts. What is CAS20? CAS20 is a unified token standard designed to take fragmented institutional requirements — compliance lists, role-based permissions, payment memos, and related controls — and turn them into a single-step deployment and configuration process. According to BNB Chain, the standard brings together: • Permissioned issuance • Compliant transfers • Programmable controls • Institutional interoperability for tokenized assets On ordinary token standards, issuers often add blacklists, whitelists, invoice notes, daily NAV updates, and role management after the fact. CAS20 claims to make those features native. Why this matters now BNB Chain is already known for high throughput, low fees, and EVM compatibility. The weakness for institutions is congestion. When meme coins or NFTs flood the network, payments sit in the same queue. CAS20’s most distinctive promise is a guaranteed lane in every block, reserved for CAS20 transfers.
