The “everything sucks” doomerism of the far left and right is wrong. Worse, it needlessly radicalizes people. Today is better than yesterday and tomorrow is going to be even better. So here’s a list of 50 areas where we're seeing progress. 1/

BREAKING: U.S. officials have ordered a 2-day stand down for all military aviation inside as well as outside the United States after an F-35 jet went missing in South Carolina. This keeps getting more bizarre. According to ABC News, "no units are allowed to fly" unless there is a discussion for two days about "safety measures and procedures." “No units are allowed to fly until they have a two-day discussion about safety measures and procedures, the commandant said in a service-wide email on Monday.” - @ABC
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The order only applies to the Marine Corps, not all military aviation as the post implies. “Safety Stand-Downs” are common following mishaps & not unusual: abcnews.go.com/US/marines-con… Previous safety stand-downs: armytimes.com/news/your-army… airandspaceforces.com/air-force-orde… news.usni.org/2020/10/26/air…

This morning while walking to get to my truck I saw our neighbor helping another neighbor fix their driveway. You may recognize him, he’s also our Governor. You wouldn’t see this on his page because he likes to work behind the scenes more often than not. @GovPhilScott #vtflood23 – at Vermont, USA

Probably the best thing you'll see today. In 2017, a group of developers hilariously competed for who could create worst volume control interface in the world. The results 🧵 1/22

New respect for Bernie. What a contrast with the socialists who followed him.

#btvcc unanimously approved updated Main St concepts. This is huge & transformative for #btv, a generational change on par with Church St. 40 years ago. Thanks to the folks at @BTVDPW who worked to get this done, excited to see it starting next construction season!

Finally got around to watching some @NBCSports Olympic coverage on old school cable. The ad : action ratio (in minutes) is unbearable. I would guess 8:1. #Olympics #NBCOlympics #TokyoOlympics2020 #TokyoOlympics2021
Sums it up.
