These “high school students” in France look a lot like the “civilian journalists” in Gaza.
Do these really look like high schoolers annoyed that their classrooms are too dirty?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know

Elon Musk bought Twitter in 2022, and that's the only reason you're even aware that France is a warzone tonight. Legacy media describes it as "scuffles" and "cost of living protests". They're lying to everyone's faces. You and I are the media now.

Imagine if it was the far-right rioting in France and Nigel Farage posted in solidarity with them. Zarah Sultana would have been very vocal. She is completely unfit to be an MP. She’s as dangerous as she is idiotic.

France. A father defends his shop. His only source of income to feed his wife and children. They mock him. They beat him. They destroy everything. These are not criminals, they are terrorists. Europe is dying.

I’m disgusted we’ve done this to people prepared to put their lives on the line for us.
Imagine jumping from a helicopter behind enemy lines at night to capture an ISIS cell leader, not knowing if you'll come home. Then imagine coming home to a double murder investigation. In July 2022, five SAS soldiers came under fire in a pitch-black field in Syria. The two people in front of them refused calls to surrender, and the soldiers believed their lives were in danger. They fired. An internal review cleared them on self-defence grounds. Days after a BBC Panorama on the SAS, the Director of Special Forces overturned that review and referred them to the military police. The soldiers were arrested at secret bases in Syria and Iraq, and their homes were raided. Detectives asked for a sleeping baby to be moved so they could search under its cot. Forty-eight hours after their police interviews, the same men were sent back to jump out of helicopters into enemy territory, with life sentences hanging over them. Their legal support was one sheet of A4 listing legal aid solicitors, plus no more than £500. After nearly three years of limbo they were told there would be no charges, but the case could be reopened at any time. They have never been formally cleared. All five have now left the Army. They've been through broken relationships, drinking, and in one case an attempted suicide. The SAS is losing more experienced soldiers than ever, and the Defence Secretary has refused to meet them. This is outrageous. They aren't asking to be above the law. They're asking for a fair process. Our soldiers deserve protection from lawfare, not to be treated like criminals by the state they serve. #SAS #Lawfare #StandWithOurSoldiers

This is much worse than we thought. It’s not just that terrorists are arriving on boats. It’s that even when we know exactly who they are and the danger they pose, we’re giving them refuge. We have been truly captured. He’s an Isis terrorist who guarded beheadings and arrived on a boat illegally. And our government won’t send him back to Iraq as he may be mistreated because of his terrorist past. WTF, I expect him to be punished, severely ! Not cuddled and taken care of by my government. dailymail.com/news/article-1…

I’m old enough to know what happened when the IRA a terrorist organisation who targeted innocent shoppers & school children regularly bombed London & Manchester. Yet they’ve received a pardon whilst we criminalise, & hunt our own soldiers, & we wonder why no one wants to fight for our country!

This is all they teach their kids. This is all they concern with as adults. Even if you give them the whole of Israel and Gaza and West Bank, they won't stop. They are not like you, they don't think like you, stop dealing with them like you would deal with your own.
Now see Blackburn, England. "Say it loud, and say it clear, Zionists not welcome here." "We don't want no two states, we want 1948" - an Israel annihilation call. "From the river to the sea!"

Unelected con man wants more money, apply @UKLabour
I wanted to explain to you directly my announcement on creating a National Care Service and the triple lock. Fundamental change is needed to protect the NHS and give older people the support they need. At Labour conference, I announced a plan to create a National Care Service in the next parliament. To fund it, I am proposing an adjustment to the triple lock on the state pension. This will form the basis of a new settlement for older people in our country. I want to explain why this is necessary and what it would mean for pensioners. Everyone knows that our social care system is broken. And yet, for decades, politicians have failed to fix it. Shamefully, millions of older people have unmet care needs. Far too many see everything they have worked for – their home, pension and savings – wiped out by care bills. The personal cost can be devastating, but we should not make the mistake of thinking the price is paid only by older people and their families. I am convinced that if we carry on as we are, our broken social care system will eventually break our NHS too. Every day, older people who should be receiving support at home or in care settings are unnecessarily admitted to A&E. Meanwhile, hospital beds are occupied by people who are fit to leave but have nowhere to go because the care they need is not in place. Go to any hospital and you will see the effect. Corridor care is no longer simply the result of winter pressures. It is a commonplace indignity suffered by thousands of patients every day. It is time for fundamental change. The best chance we have of saving our NHS is to build a high-quality care service. The National Care Service I am proposing will be based on NHS principles: everyone contributes and everyone is covered. It will give people peace of mind about their care needs and protect what they have built up over their lifetime. It will provide free personal care – support with the most basic human needs: eating, dressing and bathing. And it will be integrated with the rest of the system, preventative in nature, and deliver care at home wherever possible, exactly where older people want and should be. A National Care Service, I believe, would become as significant as the creation of the NHS itself. But we need to be honest about the changes that are needed to pay for it. And I do not believe it makes sense to preserve the current triple lock while so many pensioners face the risk of catastrophic care costs. We can give pensioners greater financial security. I am proposing to adjust the triple lock. This is not an easy decision, but I believe it is the right one. We pledged in our manifesto that we would keep the triple lock throughout this parliament, and I will keep that promise. This means the state pension is set to rise by more than £2,000 a year, reaching around 30 per cent of average earnings by the end of the decade – its highest ever level. From April 2030, under our adjusted triple lock, we will guarantee that the state pension rises every year by either inflation or 2.5 per cent, whichever is higher. It will also increase by more than this when necessary to ensure that it holds its value relative to average earnings. This means that if inflation spikes, pensioners will be protected. If wages rise, pensioners will share in that rising prosperity, with the state pension tracking earnings over time. Nobody’s pension will ever go down. And the state pension will be put on a sustainable footing for decades to come. I want to be upfront about what I am proposing because this adjustment will bring change. The state pension will not increase as quickly as it otherwise would if we kept the triple lock in its current form. However, the adjustment will enable us to fix social care for everyone by building a National Care Service that provides older people with free personal care at the point of need. I believe this is a better deal for pensioners. I do not expect people to support this plan without seeing the full detail. We will start laying the ground now for the National Care Service and introduce it as soon as possible in the next parliament. Louise Casey’s review will advise us on exactly how and we will build the maximum consensus around her recommendations. It will be fully funded – and not through borrowing. I appeal to everyone to engage in this debate responsibly and urge politicians to continue the cross-party talks that began over the summer. We need less point scoring and more problem solving. The situation is too serious for us to play politics. Care workers struggling on low pay, families stretched to breaking point, older people fearful of losing everything they have worked for. We need to give them reason to hope again. I have wanted to fix social care for a long time. As health secretary in 2009, I tried to find a cross-party solution. Since then, I have watched the challenges grow more acute and the consequences become more severe. It is a profound failure of politics that we have known about this problem for so long and yet failed to act. I would never forgive myself if I did not try now. This is the settlement I am offering to pensioners: a state pension that rises every year, no care charges and a high-quality National Care Service to give peace of mind in later life. I do not pretend this will be easy. But in the end, politics is about finding a way. I gave my word that I would do everything in my power to build a care system worthy of the people who provide it and all those who depend on it. This is how we can achieve it.

This story has broken me. It has unleashed a rage so strong I can barely express it, but allow me to try. Above all, I am angry with the decades-long malevolent incompetence of the British state: politicians of all parties, the judiciary, the civil service. Their collective uselessness has shattered the social contract and made us all poorer and less safe. In just 25 years, they have led us from an affluent, high-trust society to a broken, low-trust one. I am sickened by the growth in sectarian politics. I am appalled by the foreign ghettos in our cities and imported, bent voting practices and resultant corruption in some of our councils. I hate seeing the clothing of female oppression on our streets. I am sickened by the fact our Jewish community lives under siege. I no longer wish to pay tax to support those who have come here illegally and should be removed immediately. It is to our shame that we have accepted mass immigration without insisting on integration. I am tired of being told that a British passport makes a foreigner as British as me. I assure you that the “British citizen” in this story is not. I am saddened that for so many people, the concept of “British” is essentially meaningless. I am sick of the obsession with a minor war 2,500 miles away that barely affects us. I despise that £88m of our tax money is going to Hamas (because it will), when the tax burden is a record high, everything is expensive, welfare spending is out of control and we can’t even pay for our own defences when the global risk of conflict is the highest it has been since the end of the Cold War. And in spite of how much of our money the government steals from our pockets, nothing, at all, in this country works. Healthcare, transport, education - all broken. It is a stain on our national politics that we have five Gaza MPs. It is our national shame that our government is intent on sucking up to the Palestinian entity which contains some of the worst monsters on the face of planet. It is a disgrace that our Foreign Secretary shook the hand of the representative of the Iranian regime that has slaughtered tens of thousands of its own people, and that he doesn’t seem to understand why that photograph will damn him forever. It is embarrassing that we had a Foreign Office minister dancing with and hugging the representative of the Palestinian Authority. The lack of serious statesmanship is mind-boggling and indicative of how far we have fallen. They say the past is a foreign country, but my goodness, do I miss the country I grew up in. I feel so sorry for the generation that grew up after 2000 and will never know how good it was. It’s not coming back. I have no time for the demagogues and grifters who exploit this anger. I know other people feel the same as I do, and my goodness, do I understand why people are angry. For decades, those we have elected to govern in our interests have instead run our country into the ground. And to cap it all, now we are led by fatuous, asinine, deeply unserious airheads who think serious governance is a TikTok video about pork scratchings, as the last vestiges of a coherent society die under the weight of their malignant frivolity. The worst part of it is that there is absolutely nothing any of us can do about it. I just want to live in a happy, stable, prosperous country like we used to be, instead of one that is run by a state apparatus that does nothing but beat us down, obsess over irrelevances, take our money, and leave us poorer and less safe.

Britain's Islamic Home Secretary was clearly not vetted by the intelligence services she now oversees. This is a staggering security failure.
UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has previously worked and appeared with Islamic Relief UK, an organization linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. In September 2010, shortly after becoming an MP, Mahmood and fellow Labour politician Sadiq Khan visited Islamic Relief field operations in Pakistan following devastating floods. Islamic Relief also documented Mahmood joining its representatives, police, local-government officials and members of the community at a Birmingham solidarity event following the 2019 Christchurch mosque attacks. Islamic Relief has historical links to senior Muslim Brotherhood figures: its co-founder and former chairman Essam El-Haddad was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Guidance Bureau and later became an adviser to Muslim Brotherhood-backed Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.

If you leave your home empty for 6 months, Labour are going to let councils *seize it*. Their MPs say that this is "great news". But it's a despicable attack on private property. The Government shouldn't seize your property just because they don't like how you use it.
