October, 1944 | 1,000 young people between ages of 12 and 18 are murdered in the gas chamber of crematorium III, including 357 young Jews who arrived the same day from an auxiliary camp in the village of Dyherrnfurth that belonged to the Groß-Rosen camp.

On this day in 1929, a Czech Jewish boy was born. On 20 November 1942 he was deported to Theresienstadt with his father, and on 4 October 1944 to Auschwitz, where he perished. His father had left for the camp on 28 September 1944. His name was Jiří Bondy
