I know for sure He is there but I choose not to believe just to be contrary?

“Almost” can create something so heavy even it almost can’t lift it.

I went to a casino night playing limit poker. The ante was tiny and there were a zillion players. Winning a hand seemed toytally random. Mysteriously at the end of the night 2 or 3 guys had everyone’s money. That said with poker the trick is knowing what a good game is.

John Tower not getting confirmed by the Senate. I mean, like a vivid memory not confused by re-reading about it later. Mainly because-(not making this up) I wrote a poem for HS English about it. (Bush standing like a tree…) :-). My teacher wasn’t as amused as I was.

I get that the idea is that Knicks are jerking people around but it’s described in a way that makes in unclear what’s going on. As for the phishing thing. If it was a real attack isn’t this just the kind of thing someone would do?

super confusing. Assistants were told theyd get them. Did someone say they wouldnt? Some employees (assistants?) heard they wouldn’t - the same one who were told they would? Or different employees? Other teams give rings to some - is that including assistant?

Misanthropists the world over get a moment of excitement before being disappointed . That’s a great napkin.

If you’re not a citizen why wouldn’t you return to your country of origin?

You’re saying for the past 60 years Republicans having been giving away money to Democrats but now Trump with 5k giveaway is giving money to Republicans? Or are you saying Republicans promised cuts and didn’t deliver so they might as well increase spending?

The weird thing isn’t that they got it wrong but that they either didn’t care or didn’t try. You could add to that - why did that attitude change? I mean I’m pretty sure by the 18th century they were putting ancient Romans in togas.

I like watching little kids play soccer for that reason - invariably it’s 9 kids running after the ball and there’s one solitary player who has some idea of what it means to play position. It says something to my soul about being right when everyone is wrong.

I appreciate the wisdom in that, but doesn’t it seem like a cop out? Predictions with no time frame are meaningless- why even make it? Why credit someone for a prediction when they didn’t understand why the event happened- if they did they would have known when it would happen.

Because there’s no rational bases for the former and there was a for the later. That is to say discrimination on the basis of race isn’t a way to fix past discrimination and using the way a person looks isn’t a completely crazy way to figure out who isn’t in the country legally

Not saying I would have gotten this but honestly this isn’t exactly Nostradamus.

The funniest bit is that a neighbor could look up Dougherty, act like a lunatic and it’d be equally plausible for them to be MAGA or a Lefty. Horseshoe theory triumphant!

Good luck. I know a couple people in your spot and all I can say is what my Dad told me, “just remember for every ass there is a seat.”

The beauty of the thing is that you honestly don't need to know what they're saying.

My take is always that the real danger to be prevented is attacks at scale. Really motivated or really legal attackers can get around and at anything but can be stopped at getting at *everything*.
