Turning your Twitter into a client getting machine comes down to three things… And it’s not followers. Because so many people spam follow for follow, get to 500-1k followers then act shocked when they get 1 like. It’s not posting a certain amount a day. You should post when you feel like it. And it’s definitely fucking not spamming AI posts and replying to every post you see. Theres three things to it: 1- Make friends with likeminded people. They’ll like and interact with your posts which boosts them. 2- Post ANY W you get. This will show you know what the fuck you’re doing. Even if you get some really good feedback from your coach, that counts. 3 and by far the most important- BE YOURSELF. Guarantee if you showed a follower of mine one of my tweets without my name attached… They’d 100% say it’s Alfie who said that. Also, my profile pic is a picture of me topless straight out the shower, I swear in every post, And my bio is something that doesn’t seem too serious. When people click my profile, they’ll get the impression that I’m: -casual -unprofessional -unapologetic -a fucking killer -young hustler Follow these and you will grow a good personal brand and maybe if you’re lucky enough you’ll get some clients too.

You don’t need a niche. All 3 clients I’ve had have all been in completely different niches. And the most recent two I knew nothing about btw. If you pick a niche, not only are you narrowing down how many clients you can get… You’re also only learning to write for one audience. And trust me, one day, you’ll have to write in a different niche. You’ll have no choice. And when that day comes, you’ll have no clue. The formats that worked in one niche won’t work in the other. And don’t get me started on people who pick the most random niches: “Local smash burger restaurants” “Morgues” “Political groups” (I made them all up if you can’t tell, just emphasizing a point) Stop now. Get any client you can no matter the niche… Learn the niche… Then you’re sorted. Fuck niches.

Hot take: Creative strategy is essentially just copywriting with a couple of extra steps. And that’s coming from a creative strategist

🚩CREATIVE STRATEGY RED FLAGS🚩 1- Mandatory daily calls. Seriously tf is the point? One weekly call is fair enough... But spending about an hour on a call every day is a waste of time, I can spend that making ads lmao. 2- "3 years experience required" This usually means they want to hire seniors and pay them junior prices. AVOID. 3- free test projects They want to scam you for free work. Any I've missed?

Pretty mad how there’s marketing degrees when you think about it… Imagine paying 9 grand a year to earn less and know less than me, a dude who paid $97 a month for @ecomuniversity and watched some YouTube vids about it lmao. Not to mention I’ve turned it into a higher than average income at 22 in like a year and a half of learning it. And I could have done that earlier too lmao. Just shows how far ahead of the curve us with entrepreneurial mindsets are.

Networking is so fucking important. You don’t know what’s on the other side of a conversation with a fellow entrepreneur. Yet people will do outreach instead💀💀💀 You can write a few words on Twitter which takes about 10 minutes a day… While being unapologetic…. And will more than likely have better luck with clients.

Having big goals will kill you mentally. If you’re at 0… And your mind is set on becoming a millionaire… You’ll always feel discouraged when you’re not seeing results. And you’ll think it doesn’t work deep down. When starting out, focus on getting a case study, or focus on getting your first dollar online. Once you get the ball rolling. Next step: turn it into a good income to have on the side, Then once you get there, your next goal is to earn enough to quit your job. Then 5k, 10k, so on.

I make money as a creative strategist. But it’s not always been this way. I was trying and failing at email copywriting for about a year… Then I came across DTC Creative Strategy in around January 2026… And I thought “yeah this could be the play” I was still trying to do full stack copywriting just for ecom brands… Then do creative strategy for info brands. There was one slight problem though however… I could not stay consistent. I was coasting along. Hanging onto my dreams by a thread. There was always a subconscious part of my brain telling me: “Bro it’s impossible, just lay in bed tonight bro.” Then I started getting myself out there on Twitter. I was practicing, getting better whenever I put my mind to it. Then I post my portfolio on a tweet. And low and behold, I get an inbound client from that. It was a low paying client yes… (amazing client though) But that subconscious thought in my brain DIED. Now my mind was solely focused on grinding and getting more results. I get very good results for this brand, I post my Ws on Twitter, I grow my network by connecting with likeminded people… Then another dude outreaches to me. Takes me on, and it’s enough to replace my mundane 9-5 job. Then I get to work… Was working like a madman trying to find angles for a niche I knew nothing about. Then two weeks later, I hit $100k in spend, then I have one individual ad which hits $100k. This then leads me to getting inbound leads which ended up with me getting another client paying me the same amount. I now make enough money to live very comfortably. But I’m not done there… I want to generate tons more insane results for my clients, Which should result in more money in my pocket too. Moral of this story? Don’t fucking give up. Ever. All it will take is one small W to get the ball rolling. Hope this inspires someone today. If it did, a follow would be appreciated :)

You don’t need a crazy portfolio at all. All that matters is: 1- Ads you’ve briefed. 2- Results if applicable. Everything else is just noise. You don’t need a fancy portfolio made on Notion or some shit. I just have a Google Doc. In fact I closed my first client because he liked my portfolio, Which was literally a Google Drive folder with ad briefs in.
