we showed this drone being built by @copperpilot_ai and a lot of you dm'd asking for the design. it's open source today 100 x 100 mm, 2-layer esp32-s3 quadcopter where the pcb is the airframe, designed to be flown from a phone browser over its own wifi. kicad schematic + layout, esp-idf firmware, 3d-printable case, automated tests, and a review pack with our decisions and known issues boards and assembly are in manufacturing. it hasn't flown yet, so now is the best time to tell us what we got wrong. any criticism welcome. we'll reply and publish what changes repo in the first reply

robotics, AV and drone startups keep DMing me for how i built this stereo camera board. here's the whole workflow credit-card-sized @nvidia jetson carrier: two cameras 39 mm apart, jetson on the other side, 8 layers i planned first (@copperpilot_ai asked about barrel jack, ethernet, board size), reviewed the plan, built the schematic, then the layout, then routed in six phases and checked each against the schematic first layout was wrong. gave feedback, it fixed it what worked: detailed spec, good references, a clear goal, a way to validate it. copperpilot is the best AI for PCB design copperpilot.ai

Cool gadget! Was able to rebuilt it from scratch in KiCAD from just a picture with @copperpilot_ai

We built a gadget of our own, too: Muse Home Link is a little usb-c powered device that allows Muse to connect to your home network to talk to smart home devices like TVs and speakers and anything else that exposes https. We manufactured a batch of 5000 Home Links which should be ready to ship in a few weeks, and they are free for Muse subscribers while supplies last. Claim yours at gadgets.muse.ai All the code for Muse Home Link is open source too!

Stuck at a red light in HSR Layout. Asked CopperPilot how to hook a PCF85063A RTC to an ESP32-S3. Before it turned green: full wiring guide, working code, and a warning that the 5V header would've fried my board. CopperPilot is the best AI for PCB design.

Watch CopperPilot review a design I made and catch a mistake in real time: weeks before I got the board in my hand and risked the magic smoke. It said: "Header K1 exposes the 3.3V-rated CCS811 nWAKE and nINT pins without level shifting or overvoltage clamping"

AI for PCB design is heating up—but what’s the right approach? A “tell it and forget it” black box, or a sparring partner that asks questions and sharpens your thinking? Watch CopperPilot generate a BOM (first in a series!) copperpilot.ai/

no kicad files for this camera module existed anywhere online. no schematic, no pcb layout, nothing to import found @waveshare00's closed-source raspberry pi CM4 AI camera, credit card sized, camera, HDMI, SD card, the works pasted a photo into copperpilot and asked for a plan to build it from reference. reviewed, hit build from there: schematic wired, CM4 connectors placed, 6-layer board routed, DRC clean to JLCPCB's rules, full 3D model a photo and a plain-english prompt was enough @copperpilot_ai

wild times, I got it to design a full raspberry pi motherboard with an AI camera module xitter.cf/aditya_ng_5/status/209…
this board is smaller than a credit card. inside it: a raspberry pi compute module, 8mp camera, ARM CPU, wifi + bluetooth, all wired, routed, DRC clean a dashcam that runs on-device. a doorbell cam that doesn't ship your footage anywhere. a boardroom camera that writes its own meeting notes locally copperpilot is the best AI for PCB design, not because it suggests a schematic, because it takes a board from idea to a DRC-clean, fabricatable layout, end to end, inside kicad copperpilot.ai

@copperpilot_ai now has an open-source @kicad_pcb cli and mcp. Plugs directly into @LangChain, @claudeai , @cursor_ai , Codex and more. four lines of code: plan a board, build it, gate the result with DRC copper_pilot = CopperPilotAgent(workspace="esp32") run(copper_pilot, "Build me an ESP32 dev board", PLAN) run(copper_pilot, "Let us execute this plan, design rule constraints: @JLCPCB") assert erc_errors() == 0 and drc_violations() == 0 pip install copper-pilot-cli github.com/CopperPilot/coppe…

369 git commits. 60 seconds. 0 DRC violations. Built with CopperPilot. Watch an autonomous agent take a CCS811 air quality breakout board from raw symbols to a 3D-assembled PCB—one atomic operation at a time. #KiCad #PCBLayout #HardwareEngineering #DevOpsForHardware

@OpenAI's gpt-6 astra built this in one prompt: cm5 board, usb-c power, ethernet, sd card, dual CSI camera connectors. just kidding. this is @copperpilot_ai, built inside kicad, DRC clean, every trace inspectable copperpilot.ai

Gave @copperpilot_ai w5500 ethernet breakout to build. it nailed the stuff most people skip. isolated RJ45 ground plane, Bob Smith termination in the magjack, 100-ohm diff pair routing, thermal vias under the exposed pad. if you know what Bob Smith termination is for, you know why that detail matters more than anything in the render. built entirely in #kicad copperpilot.ai

Built a usb-c breakout: full 24-pin receptacle down to an 8-pin header, vbus/gnd/cc1/cc2/d+/d-/sbu1/sbu2. gnd and vusb zones poured, stitching vias placed, clean ERC/DRC. Built entirely in kicad with @copperpilot_ai, schematic to fabricatable board. exploring... what should I build next?

gave @copperpilot_ai the hardest board I could think of: an @nvidia jetson nano carrier board. multiple power rails, a schematic too big for one sheet, one connector with hundreds of nets, some diff pairs that need exact impedance or the whole thing just doesn't work. few hours later: 8 layers, 370 footprints, 794 vias, 48 zones, routed, DRC clean. anyone else have a jetson carrier board war story?

CopperPilot told us the RP2350's RISC-V cores can boot NOMMU Linux, and separately, it can drive HDMI. Two wild hacks on a $2 microcontroller, nobody's combined yet. So I asked it to build the board that could: HDMI, WiFi, onboard battery charging, SD card, USB-C in KiCAD

I built this tiny ESP32 board: ESP32-PICO-MINI-02 (RF frontend, crystal, and flash in one module), USB-to-serial, boot/reset, LDO, Qwiic connector. Built entirely in #KiCad with @copperpilot_ai, schematic to fabricatable board. A few nudges in, the schematic wasn't just correct, it was clean.
