The choice of Local Hero – A Common Man couldn’t have been more fitting. Kevin Keegan never lost touch with who he was. Despite all the fame, he remained humble, genuine and approachable, a common man who made ordinary people believe extraordinary things were possible. He gave Newcastle more than football. He gave a city hope, pride and memories that will live forever. Rest easy, King Kev. You’ll always be our Local Hero.

Majority of teachers are in before 8, some much before. Most don't take a lunch break. We're in a recruitment and retention crisis. But, yeah. You 'take on schools' and all us lazy teachers who don't stay late enough already. No teachers leave at 3.30pm btw. #edutwitter
NEW: Bridget Phillipson will take on schools that close before 3.30pm in Labour’s first curriculum review this week, according to the Telegraph. The Education Secretary is expected to criticise schools that close earlier in the afternoon and refuse to meet the Government’s target of opening for at least 32.5 hours a week.

🧵 Bennett's latest #substackattack Another day, another hot take about “activism disguised as research”. A few thoughts (from someone who actually does research on ed & wellbeing) re. what the BERJ study on school isolation rooms does/doesn't say etc. bennettt.substack.com/p/teac…

I’d just like to sit down with the person who put the Leave Meeting button next to the Stop Sharing button on #microsoft #Teams and ask them some questions. That’s all.

They made my generation watch Threads 😩
People getting upset about the tv programme ‘Adolescence’ being shown in schools. F’ck me people. They made my generation watch this horror movie. I still haven’t watched it again after 45 years. It still makes me cry.
