I know I should have said something earlier, but I was too afraid to put this out there at the time. When I was 14 years old in 2019, my high school did an event with the Arizona Cardinals and a select few students got to meet the team and staff. I was lucky enough to be selected. I had a very fun time, met Larry Fitzgerald, David Johnson, Budda, etc. All very nice people. I had an encounter with a short white dude in a suit, at this point I had no idea who he was and I said hello. He was very cold to me, and after ignoring me I heard him mutter “nigger” under his breath. I was very used to racism in Arizona at this point and just thought he was some random executive that I wouldn’t care for. I found out a few months later that man was the OWNER of the team, Michael Bidwill. It was too late to say anything at that point and I didn’t want to mess with a rich and powerful man.
