New chapter… more info soon 👨💻
A New Chapter for Shard :
After months of building, iterating, and pushing the boundaries of what a Polymarket superapp could be, we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to sunset the Shard frontend. This wasn’t a decision we took lightly. It came after weeks of internal discussions, careful evaluation of the market landscape, and an honest look at where the prediction market ecosystem is heading.
Why?
When we started Shard, the Polymarket ecosystem was vibrant, open, and full of opportunity for independent builders. The idea was simple: build a modular, customizable workspace that would let traders, researchers, and power users integrate the entire prediction market ecosystem into a single terminal. We wanted to give users the tools to build their own experience, their own way.
But over time, the ecosystem has shifted. Polymarket has been steadily centralizing its infrastructure, tightening control over its frontend experience, and making it increasingly difficult for third-party builders to operate independently. The open and composable landscape that once made this space exciting has given way to a more closed, platform-controlled environment where independent frontends struggle to differentiate and sustain themselves.
We’ve always believed in openness, modularity, and giving power back to users. But the reality is that building on top of an ecosystem that is actively consolidating around a single player creates a dependency that is hard to justify long term. The direction the ecosystem is taking no longer aligns with the vision we set out to build, and we’d rather be honest about that than pretend otherwise.
What does this mean for you?
First and foremost, there is absolutely nothing you need to do. Shard has always been a frontend layer. It was an interface, a workspace, a way to interact with the Polymarket ecosystem in a more powerful and customizable way. But your positions, your funds, your trading history, everything lives on Polymarket’s smart contracts, not on Shard.
→ No action required
→ No approvals needed
→ No funds at risk
→ You can continue trading and managing your positions directly on Polymarket as usual
Nothing changes for you besides the fact that you won’t be accessing it through the Shard terminal anymore.
What about the incubator?
We had been working on a Shard tool incubator designed to help new builders develop their own projects around the prediction market ecosystem. The goal was to support teams on the idea, roadmap, marketing, and distribution side so they could launch their own products on top of Polymarket and Shard. While this program won’t continue in its current form, the learnings and frameworks we developed won’t go to waste. They’ll feed into what comes next.
Is this the end of Shard?
No. And we want to be very clear about this. Shard is not dying. It’s transforming. The team is still here, the skills we’ve built are still here, and the infrastructure and knowledge we’ve accumulated over the past months don’t just disappear because we shut down a frontend. We’re taking everything we’ve learned about building tools, navigating on-chain ecosystems, and creating products that real users actually want, and we’re channeling it into something new. Something that isn’t dependent on a single ecosystem’s willingness to stay open.
We can’t share all the details just yet, but what we can say is that the next chapter is already in motion. More info soon. 📷
Thank you to every single person who believed in the vision, used the terminal, gave us feedback, and supported us along the way.
This community gave Shard its soul, and we don’t take that for granted. This isn’t a goodbye. It’s a pivot. (Note: every OG user will be accounted for in the future… 🪂)
See you on the other side.

Holding the only 1/1 of Credits is not for everyone
Could consider letting it go but only for the right deal. I'd still want exposure to the rares too
Would look at:
→ 4/5 8s + ETH
→ 3/5 8s + ETH
Serious offers only, DMs open.
Credits is just getting started.
Believe.
