The hardest part of building data centres in the US right now is finding enough electricians, plumbers and welders.
Germany has trained these at scale for decades through its apprenticeship system.
Underrated European advantage, if we ever decide to build.

Daniel is brillant, if you’re interested in mind uploading, partial brain replacement, synconetics, brain in a jar tech or philosophy, he’s the person.
Help Needed: Missing Mind Uploading Works
I'm trying to build as comprehensive a collection of mind uploading literature as I can: papers, books, chapters, essays, blog posts, and (if necessary) relevant fiction. I've found most of what is on my list, but I'm still looking for the works below.
Can anyone point me towards open-access versions, author manuscripts, library holdings or other legitimate sources? If you're an author or have a copy you're permitted to share, I'd love to hear from you. PDFs are ideal, including readable scans I can OCR, but EPUBs and other formats are welcome too!
I'm missing 30 works, and I have only partial copies of seven, marked with an asterisk (*)

Any leads would be much appreciated. And if you know of relevant work I've overlooked, please send it my way!!!
Brainless clones are the future and the fewest have it on their radar.
LongevityBench is a genuinely useful contribution. But the headline result needs a caveat: fine-tuned 1–3B models vs. frontier models evaluated zero-shot with thinking disabled. That's not a fair fight. I'd love to see the same tasks with reasoning on and few-shot examples. Bet the bitter lesson applies here too.

The future of academic research papers
Thrilled that #paper2agent is published in @nature today!
Scientific knowledge is traditionally stored in passive papers. Paper2Agent transforms papers into virtual authors that answer questions, apply its methods and collaborate w/ other paper agents to make new discoveries 🧵
Say hello to Longevity AI models
In a new article published today on the cover of @CellCellPress, we obtained Liquid Foundation Model instances that establish state-of-the-art performance on biological longevity tasks, outperforming the best frontier models such as Gemini-3.1-Pro, GPT-5, and Claude Opus.
In partnership with @InSilicoMeds, we built and released:
> A comprehensive eval suite of 17 biological longevity tasks (i.e., LongevityBench), to assess whether a general-purpose language model can interpret aging data spanning clinical records, DNA methylation, transcriptomics, plasma proteomics, and genetic evidence.
> LFM2-1.2B-Longevity and LFM2-2.6B-Longevity: two compact models specialized for interpreting structured aging data across these tasks.
These results are important! 🧵
We just welcomed 35 exceptional founders and researchers into our home, and are now watching the future being built under our own roof.
Closed-loop autonomous laboratories, dexterous robotics for unstructured environments, synthetic limb extensions for amputees, plasma guns to shoot down drones, and more.
Cohort 2.f
They just integrated human organoids in mice brains.

People keep misunderstanding this. I CONTRIBUTED to Bostrom’s Superintelligence book and he thanks me by name in the foreword.
I was thinking about AI safety long before 2014.
Elon Musk posted this back in 2014 after reading Nick Bostrom’s Superintelligence:
“Worth reading Superintelligence by Bostrom. We need to be super careful with AI. Potentially more dangerous than nukes”
That was more than 12 years ago....long before the current AI boom
The book explores what happens when machine intelligence surpasses human intelligence, the existential risks that follow and the enormous challenge of keeping superintelligence aligned with humanity
Elon was sounding the alarm on this years before AI safety became mainstream....when most people barely understood what superintelligence even meant
Today we now have a clear understanding that AI will become the most powerful technology humanity has ever created
Making sure it remains aligned with humanity matters more than anything else

Yes, this result cost millions of dollars.
But remember that when @OpenAI announced o3 it cost ~$500,000 to score 87.5% on ARC-AGI 1. Today, Astra scores higher for ~$20.
In 2025 it took us and GDM an enormous amount of compute to achieve IMO gold. For the 2026 IMO, anyone with a $20/month ChatGPT subscription could do it.
Massively scaling test-time compute gives us a glimpse of the future. I believe that a year from now everyone will have an AI at their fingertips capable of solving problems of this caliber.
We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics.
The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra.
The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
Interesting
A common AI scenario is that GDP per capita goes up but workers get poorer, and making workers whole requires massive redistribution. In my latest paper, I run the numbers and conclude that this is probably incorrect. marginalrevolution.com/margi…

Biggest myths I’ve come across in AI × bio:
“There isn’t enough data”
Biology already has vast datasets. The real challenge is identifying the questions that matter and getting the data needed to answer them.
“Our historical dataset is our moat.”
Historical datasets lose value as models absorb public knowledge; the real moat is generating high-quality answers to new questions on demand.
