In just 1 year, I built my creative business.
Now, I live off of the thing I love most:
Creating exceptional content for exceptional people (you).
In this week's video, I'm showing 4 steps I used to build my content creator career from scratch.
(probably my best video yet):
Shield Analytics shut down yesterday. And two competitors responded:
AuthoredUp - Ivana Todorovic posted a note acknowledging Shield's work, gave users practical next steps, and said outright they wouldn't be dropping promo codes to capitalise on the moment.
Then I got an email from Scripe.
A meme. A gravestone with Shield's logo on it. "RIPSHIELD" as the discount code. A line about being "literally the safest tool on the market right now."
I get that it was meant to be funny.
It wasn't.
And beyond the cringe, it missed something: when a competitor shuts down, real people lose a tool they relied on. That's not a content opportunity - that's a moment to be useful.
One of them figured that out.
we built tools to create more content faster
and the main thing everyone keeps saying is that feeds feel emptier
something got lost in the speed
Sometimes I wonder what conversations lead to such unnecessary product ideas
how I feel after spending my Saturday editing reels that will get 3 likes (1 from me and 1 from my boyfriend)
Here's the build guide for you: docs.google.com/document/d/1…
the pitch was: AI is cheaper than headcount.
some companies now spend more on tokens and compute than on salaries.
the math was always provisional.
I'm an AI freak but you'll never see me write:
"I replaced my entire copywriting team with AI"
"My AI agent closed a deal while I slept"
"Built a 6-month content strategy in 12 minutes with one prompt"
AI is infrastructure, not a replacement for my judgement.
