OK but can we make sure the focus is on SUVs specifically. Many larger families that can't afford EVs buy older 7 seat MPVs (minivan style) out of practical necessity and would get shafted with a weight only tax.

Government should introduce a weight based tax for SUVs. If you can afford 80-100k for an Audi Q7 PHEV or similar, you should not be able to tax such an unnecessarily big and dangerous car for €170. A Toyota Corolla hybrid costs €190 to tax. Where’s the fairness in that?

The worst thing to happen to tech from a parental point of view was the move from the computer being in a shared space sitting room corner or 'computer room' to the bedroom. PC in shared space allowed for curiosity and intergenerational learning. A social activity in the family..
