Ciara Mageean died this morning. A light has gone out in the world. Authentic, talented, decent. Her kindness and wonderful personality was a joy to watch and see. Then came her iconic sporting achievements.
When we sat down with Ciara for the GAA Social in July, she received disappointing news the day before. Ciara didn’t want to cancel, so we recorded on the Tuesday. It’s 90 minutes Oisin & myself will always treasure. She was the best of us.
To Thomas, I’m so sorry. She was mad about you. To the Mageean family, all her great friends and the Portaferry community- what a stunning human being, to call one of your own. This is so unfair.
I’ve never met a person who met Ciara, who didn’t love her. A one off.

Everyone heard the racist chants from Israeli fans towards an Irish player, and now comes the predictable attempt to cast themselves as the victims.
Shameless.

The DUP is in turmoil. It’s embarrassing that Jamie Bryson is leading them by the nose.

This is disgraceful & ignorant. Oliver had the chance to speak to any of us who were there beside him all night to help explain some of the context and sentiment. He didn’t. Unlike another colleague from the UK who made a point of talking to us, Oliver sat alone and wrote this.
"There was no handshake, no customary exchange of pennants. And once it was finally time for some football, the team wore black armbands designed as a gesture of “recognition of all lives lost in the Gaza conflict”. The messaging was, to put it politely, a mess."

Here's the people who claim to separate sport....chanting IDF IDF at the stadium.
A genocidal army that has murdered 25000 children.
Scumbags. The worst humans on earth.

In 1999, Ireland defied UEFA and refused to host Yugoslavia in a Euro qualifier amid the atrocities in Kosovo.
The Irish government cancelled the visas of the Yugoslav team.
Tomorrow, Kosovo is set to give a warm welcome to Ireland as we meet in the Nations League. 🇽🇰🇮🇪

What a picture this is btw. Seamus Coleman's international career was likely over before that goal. Now he has a chance of getting to a World Cup. If they get there, he should be the captain.
Have a spare ticket for the Portugal game for anyone interested. Blk 514. Face value. @YouBoysInGreen
