Aaron Glenn is now 0-7 against AFC East opponents. He is the first full-time head coach in #Jets franchise history to lose his first seven divisional games. Simply unacceptable.

The Patriots blitzed Geno Smith on 51.5% of dropbacks, nearly doubling their rate from Weeks 4-5 (26.7%). It paid off. Against the blitz, Smith averaged just 6.8 YPA with an INT and two sacks. The #Jets' pass-pro continues to struggle accounting for extra rushers.

🚨LIVE POSTGAME RIGHT NOW🚨 The #Jets had every opportunity to pull off a huge upset against New England, but couldn't get out of their own way. Breaking down the frustrating 26-19 loss, Reich's play-calling, and more. TUNE IN👇 youtube.com/watch?v=y3HKH2_A…

Jamien Sherwood has had himself a GAME for the #Jets today. A huge forced fumble there, plus the recovery on David Bailey's earlier forced fumble. He's making plays when this defense needs them most. Now the offense gets another opportunity, down 10. Can Geno Smith and Frank Reich finally capitalize?

That's a tough one for the #Jets. Hunter Henry's TD makes it 23-13 with 14:10 remaining. The defense needed to hold up better on that drive, especially on the earlier third-and-10. Have to get off the field there. An 11-point comeback won't be easy, but there's still time. Let's see how the offense responds

Nice series from Frank Reich to open the second half. Loved the play-action bootleg, with Geno Smith uncorking a beautiful deep ball for the touchdown. This is what the #Jets' offense can look like when Reich gets creative and puts his players in position to succeed. Now it's about consistency. Need to see more of this.

THAT is exactly what the #Jets needed. Omar Cooper Jr. gets wide open downfield, and Geno Smith finds him for a deep touchdown. Good to see Smith stretch the field 17-10 Patriots. After everything that went wrong in the first half, the Jets are right back within one score. Couldn't have asked for a better start to the second half after a disastrous end to the first.

The frustrating part about this game for the #Jets is that they've actually moved the ball. 155 yards, 11 first downs, 19+ minutes of possession. Yet they're down 17-3. Reich's questionable play calling has a lot to do with that.

Halftime thoughts on the #Jets: • The offense has shown flashes. Reich has mixed in more play-action, motion and Braelon Allen, but the short-yardage execution has been brutal. • Too many wasted opportunities. You cannot consistently move the ball and come away with just three points. • The defense hasn't helped itself. Missed tackles and penalties have made life way too easy for New England. • That final sequence was a disaster. A three-and-out, followed by a Patriots touchdown, completely flipped the momentum. Down 17-3, with New England getting the ball to start the second half. The Jets have made this significantly harder than it needed to be.

And yup, just about the worst possible sequence for the #Jets. Go three-and-out, give New England the ball with over a minute and two timeouts, then penalties and missed tackles lead to a touchdown. Now it's 17-3 with 14 seconds left in the half, and the Patriots get the ball to start the third quarter. Look how quickly a game can change.

It's so puzzling because the #Jets' offense is actually flowing. Reich is mixing in Braelon, play-action, etc., and then it all falls apart on third-and-short and fourth-and-short. Why keep running out of shotgun when New England is stopping it? The QB sneak was too long of a yard. The Jets NEED points on these drives.

The issue isn't even going for it there; it is the decision to run a shotgun run when the Pats are fully loading the box. Reich needs to get more creative in those situations for the #Jets

More than anyone, that TD was on Glenn. Rushing 3 and Bailey isn't one of them? Leaving the middle of the field wide open? Almost like they were asking for that from Maye. Now it's on the #Jets' offense to respond.

That's exactly what can't happen. The #Jets owned the trenches on the first drive, but back-to-back sacks erase any hope of anything coming out of that drive. Geno also needs to get the ball out quicker. Those are the drive killers that New York just can't afford today.

Great first drive for Aaron Glenn's defense. I really liked how he approached things and used the front seven without being too aggressive. Points here would be huge for the #Jets after having to settle for 3 on the opening possession.

That was a really strong opening for the #Jets' offense. Loved the balanced attack, especially with Davis getting involved in the run game. That PI call was questionable. Tough that they only have an FG to show for it; it feels like a TD was needed there.

The two things I hammered all week that the #Jets needed to use more were play-action and pre-snap motion. Props to Frank Reich for incorporating both on the opening drive. Credit to Geno Smith, too, for standing tall against the blitz and delivering under pressure.

Keys to a #Jets upset over New England: • Get the screen game going against the blitz • Take advantage of Garrett Wilson's matchup against man coverage • Generate pressure without always blitzing • Find a field-flipping play on special teams or defense

If the #Jets lose today, their season isn't over. At 2-4, there's still life, but next week's matchup with Miami becomes a must-win. Today isn't about a must-win, though. It's Aaron Glenn's best opportunity yet for a signature win This could be a huge turning point.
