Conference information platforms that are completely open usually fall victim to #PredatoryConference Organizers. That's why we are working on implementing a moderation layer in ConfIDent which will consist of our Predatory Identification Workflow:

One of the most important characteristics of a conference is the organizer. To clearly identify organizers we use #wikidata IDs and #RORID|s. We currently only mention organizations. We are still figuring out how to name people in a GDPR friendly fashion.

In the future you will receive a DOI per default for any entry in confident-conference.org/. For now we still have to register DOIs mannually. Feel free to contact us if you want to get a DOI for an event now.
ConfIDent's scope is not limited to large academic events like conferences. We hope to include a wide variety of academic event types like excursions. E.g.: The yearly excursion organized by @dvwg_ev junges Forum: doi.org/10.25798/eyf8-sv70

Organizers will also be identified via #Wikidata ID.
