Dolly Parton presenting Whitney Houston with the 1994 Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Performance for “I Will Always Love You.” Whitney’s version elevated Dolly as a songwriter. Dolly later used some of the royalties to invest in a predominantly Black Nashville neighborhood. RIP.

We knew her story but had no idea how much the mural meant - well which one is it?
My suggestions:
1. Commission a local artist to replace the mural
2. Donate to the National Brain Tumor Society
3. Donate to the Jaguar Foundation of Atlanta which has a scholarship in her honor

We knew Jovita Moore’s story, but we truly had no idea how much this specific mural meant to the community of Atlanta. Unfortunately, the windows in our buildout cut into the mural significantly. Seeing how much this mural meant to so many, we realize we made a mistake and would like to make it right. Would you be willing to connect with us? We want to hear from people who have a deep connection to her and her story.
The Atlanta Association of Black Journalists will elect a president on Saturday, Nov. 8. I've served as interim President since March and want to continue the work we’ve begun and host NABJ August 2026. I have a plan and invite you to learn more here: condacepressley.com
