A great event partnering with with @lesliewardtx, President, AT&T Texas for the @ATTPolicyTX for “H-Town: Summer of Connectivity” Initiative and giving out 212 FREE laptops to help Houston kids with their school work & computer literacy. I asked many of the kids what they will use their laptops for and they said their school work, games, with many talking careers in STEM which was great to hear!
Thank you to St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Vivian Clifton, and Pastor Troy for hosting the event, and Leslie’s AT&T office including Charles Stein, Tanya Makany Rivera @tmakrivera, Kevin Fletcher, and @Compudopt CEO Megan Steckly (and my District office).
As Shakespeare wrote, “The future is the undiscovered country” and I hope the kids first laptop will start their journey. #txlege
Thank you to Chairman @TeamBettencourt for joining me in #Houston yesterday as we distributed over 150 refurbished laptops & backpacks to students. Always wonderful to hear how this device will help support their learning & allow them to access so many digital resources. #txlege
