A potential customer may send you a security questionnaire before signing a contract. Keep your policies, insurance details, recent test results and other proof in one place. If you don’t know an answer, check it instead of guessing. Send us the form if you need help.
Never change an employee’s payroll bank details using email alone. Call the employee on the number already stored in your HR records or speak to them in person. Have a second person approve the change and record how it was verified.
An unexpected calendar invitation may link to a fake meeting, invoice, document or login page. Check the organiser’s full email address and confirm the meeting using contact details you already have before opening any link.
Signing into Chrome or Edge with a personal account on a work computer can copy business bookmarks, browsing history, open tabs and saved passwords into that account. Use a separate browser profile connected to a company-controlled work account. We can check this for you.
Could your business still take orders, answer customers and access key systems if its main internet connection failed? A second broadband, 4G or 5G connection can keep essential work running. Test the backup by disconnecting the main service. Need a backup plan? Contact us.
Photos and documents can contain information you don’t see when you open them. That may include a photo’s GPS location, the document author, comments or tracked changes. Check the metadata before sending files outside your business.
Drawing a black rectangle over words in a PDF may only hide them from view. The text can still remain in the file. Use a proper redaction tool, save a new copy and test whether the hidden text can still be selected, copied or found.
Application allowlisting blocks software that your company hasn’t approved. It can stop employees from running unapproved downloads and can also block some malware. Employees still need a quick way to request legitimate software.
What would happen if the only person who understands your IT was unavailable for a month? Someone else needs access to the documentation, provider contacts, renewal dates and emergency recovery steps.
Choose a backup person and test the plan. We can help you document it.

How many people know the password to your company Instagram? If it's in a spreadsheet or a group chat, you can't see who used it and it walks out the door when someone leaves.
Use a password manager with a shared vault so people can use logins without ever seeing the password.
Your office security camera, smart TV and video doorbell are small computers on your network, and most still have the password they came with.
Change the default password on each, turn on automatic updates, and switch off remote access you don't use.
That contract you emailed is sitting in someone else's inbox forever, and it can be forwarded to anyone.
For anything sensitive, share a link from OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox that only the named person can open, set it to expire, and switch it off when they're done.
If someone takes over your business Facebook page, they can scam your customers using your name. Turn on two-factor authentication for every social account.
Stop sharing one login and use Business Manager so each person has their own access you can remove when they leave
Using the same password twice means a breach at some site you forgot about can get someone into your business email.
Attackers take leaked passwords and try them everywhere automatically.
A strong password doesn't help if you reused it. Use a password manager and turn on MFA
