BREAKING: @BillyCorben reveals State Rep. Fabian Basabe is using taxpayer money, totaling $2700 per month, to pay himself rent for a “district office” that is not in his district, has no staff, serves no discernible purpose, and is not listed in his official state website.
Good people are getting pissed but too many euphemisms. It's insurance companies. Unnecessary middle-men who drive up costs, add friction at every step, and make pricing a series of funhouse mirrors. A stupid system, but it's stupid because of the insurance companies.

Just wanna put it out there that I've never met or spoken with Howard Lutnick, I know nothing about his relationships past or present, and I am not suicidal. #receipts
Does anyone else remember back in the day when doing this was scandalous?

The choice is an unelected DeSantis hack who wasted more than a billion taxpayer dollars in a concentration camp (Alligator Alcatraz) or an honest man, labor lawyer, and all around good person. Vote Jose Javier Rodriguez for Florida Attorney General.

Never thought I'd miss Big Oil and Big Tobacco who at least respected us enough to lie about this stuff.

Political journalism is broken.
Candidates spend millions, yet the media questions their strategy.
Why? Because many campaigns run on skeleton crews, with huge cuts to consultants.
What’s your take on this pay-to-play system?

I, once again, asked Miami’s Mayor Eileen Higgins and city commissioners to end the 287g agreement signed last year establishing local police collaboration with ICE. Higgins campaigned on this issue but now refuses to address it, and won’t even meet with groups advocating on it.

Maria Elvira Salazar is trying to distance herself from Trump’s mass deportation agenda, but in the past she has demonized migrants, praised Alligator Alcatraz, voted for billions in funding for ICE, and called for a review of birthright citizenship. Some of her comments:

New from me: Customs & Border Patrol detained and interrogated me at Miami International Airport. Then they scrutinized my reading list.

so unfair we're living through the golden age of corruption but democrats aren't allowed to have a little bit as a treat
The federal bribery trial of D.C. Council member Trayon White Sr. is set to begin today.
White is accused of taking $35,000 in cash bribes from a government contractor who he had known for years, and who was working at the time as an FBI informant. wapo.st/4xoo5Dq
And here's an economist who's saying the subject matter experts who are critical of AI's real and potential effects on our world are ACTUALLY more like climate deniers (not, you know, the enormous corporations facilitating the denial).
Business school in 2026: "Just because you're allowed to kill or poison your customers with your product doesn't mean it's a good idea to do it."
This is like the 2nd wave of climate denialism from the early 2010s when they had to tweak the messaging bc it became obvious that the climate was actually changing. AI has its minions parroting the new talking points years ahead of schedule, very efficient campaign.
People hate when I say this, but my uncle built a data center in Missouri and he said it was the best union job he ever had. They catered lunch and brought in physical therapists to teach the workers stretches to help keep their bodies in good shape for the hard work. Data center politics will likely be a major blue collar Union schism
