It isn't just that @fordnation doesn't understand, he doesn't care. In @cityoftoronto, people were still forced outdoors, onto the #TTC, and into libraries, ERs, and coffee shops. The province has no #homelessness strategy, and their housing strategy is an abject failure.
#ONpoli Wow - Doug Ford with some of the most ridiculous comments on homelessness today. “they have to move on” “you don’t see them in the winter” What a lack of understanding of the issue.

Portion of a letter I sent to MoH today.
The climate emergency impacts unhoused communities the most. This is absolutely a crisis and we need to do more now. #CanadaIsBurning

Stop Barrie City Council Criminalizing Homelessness Please sign. When Toronto did this it was cruel, people suffered badly. The law prevented workers from feeding people and preventing freezing deaths. ⁦@SHJNetwork⁩ ⁦@TODropinNetwork⁩ action.caeh.ca/barrie

Did you hear that there is a bylaw being passed by Barrie's mayor that forbids all people, including outreach-based organizations, to give out any survival supplies *including food*? This bylaw is potentially being passed TOMORROW NIGHT (Wednesday June 21). 🧵

The lives of refugees are being used as bargaining chips to secure federal funding for @cityoftoronto shelters. Worse, refugees in TO's shelter system will now be profiled by the City and "referred to federal programs," meaning — asked to leave. Shameful. cp24.com/news/toronto-to-ref…

Your daily reminder that there actually IS enough. There's enough housing, enough food, enough money for everyone to live safe, sustainable, dignified lives. GREED fuels the scarcity & creates a world where only few can thrive. We CAN change this if we want to. Here's some proof:
