People keep saying that what makes Lindsay Clancy so unlikable is her face. But I disagree.

And so it was foretold in the documentary "Idiocracy"
Forget population numbers The people with 130+ IQ are what truly matters They are the ones who keep society functioning - infrastructure, technology, medicine - It’s a thin layer of high-IQ, male, whites/north asians. Without them, systems fail in predictable ways (see South Africa) and we revert back to a primitive civilization. And it’s already been declining massively

Stop supporting dumb people breeding. In regard to the machines. GIGO. The machines are trained off our data originally but now they are training off their own slop. The LLMs everyone has access to aren't getting "smarter."
Replying to @levelsio
it feels like we're crossing a point of no return on this. I mean, realistically, what incentives does anyone in power have to make people less dumb? we're in the process of building machines that are smarter than any human could be, we won't need thinkers where we're going.

If you have kids in travel sports you've probably delt with the opposite of this. Plenty of hotels around but you have to stay in one specific one if your team wants to play in the tournament
I am begging people to stop hosting conferences at isolated resort style hotels that keep you effectively trapped at a single property.

JFC, they nerfed co-pilot again at work. Stuff it did perfectly last week, it can't even comprehend today

Always envisioned having my kids mow the lawn as they got older. Give them responsibility and a way to earn a little extra money. Tired of fighting them to do it. Have a local kid now that is doing it for same $ and is reliable. I think it is time to sell the mower.

The so-called robber barons of the 19th century had the same understanding. It’s why they built hospitals and concert halls and train stations, and made the buildings timeless works of art. If you want protection and popularity from the people, you have to pay for it. Robber barons and Latin American narcoterrorists had a greater sense of noblesse oblige than modern-day tech oligarchs who sponsor tens of thousands of H-1Bs for Chinese spies while paying retarded influencers to accuse anyone who scoffs at razing farmland to build a Flock panopticon of being pro-China.
A middling 80 IQ narcoterrorist in Mexico has a better understanding of how to get the support of small towns than does a West Coast tech bro who fancies himself one of the smartest men on earth. If scum-of-the-earth retarded narcoterrorists can get away with literal murder by building schools and hospitals and soccer fields and showering the locals with a tiny fraction of the cash they make ruining millions of lives all over the world, imagine what Big Tech bros could get away with if they had even the slightest bit of humility or understanding of basic human nature. And yet, they’re somehow simultaneously dumber, more arrogant, and greedier than drug smugglers and human traffickers.

Eli5 I have a business target of X. I have 2 coworkers in another group that do similar job as me and the target for both combined is 60% of X. They spend 30% of their time helping another group. How does management think this is OK?

My oldest has decided that she cant wait to go off to college and never contact us again because we pushed back on her going to a concert. So do I just liquidate the brokerage account that I was going to transfer to her at 25 now or wait a few months?

We are not a serious country
Detroit Public Schools will pay high school students $100 per week and middle school students $50 per week in gift cards for perfect attendance.

Here is how to tell you live in a nice area: An Amazon driver had some kind of medical episode and ambulance had to take him away. Just left the van sitting with the lights flashing. Been 3 hours and no one has touched it.

Because I use @brave to view twitter, it makes me verify I am a human each day. It will say I violated rules and suspend my account until I say I agree to the rules. Great programming over at twitter.....

Daughter and I play tennis at the local court every morning in the summer. 2uears of doing this and we have never seen another person come play. Today, a group of 4 rolled up to play pickle ball. I mentioned this was the first time we have ever seen anyone here. 1/2

The people in this that are talking about peace of mind by not having a car loan is hilarious. A 48 month car loan is ~$850 a month. Take the loan, sell off $850 a month if cash flow is tight.
Withdrew $35K from our taxable brokerage account a year ago so we could pay cash for a new Toyota Sienna. With this recent market run up and additional contributions over the last year, our taxable brokerage account has already recovered the entire $35K withdrawal.

Did my car registration renewal online. USPS informed delivery clearly showed it was to be delivered on 6/29. It has never arrived and I have asked post office to be on the lookout for it. At what point do we consider the idea that the delivery guy may have stole it @USPS

We bought sparkles for our kids for July 4th. Out on the beach lighting them and other kids parents were coming up asking us for sparklers for their own kids. No shame. Bring back shaming.
We need a bit more shame. People used to avoid certain self-interested behaviors to avoid shame, private and public. Law and customs assumed this. Now, 38% of Stanford students claim to be disabled. 40% of young women (under 35) claim mental illness, and SSI disability payments have gone up 400% in a single generation. It isn't good for anyone, least of all people who are actually disabled, when everyone looks the other way as friends and family and peers con the system with a level of shamelessness no architect of our safety net ever imagined could be possible in America. When everyone is disabled, nobody is.

Just did the math and by 2031 the yearly property tax and insurance cost on my house will be more than the yearly mortgage payment. Fun times!
