haven't posted much about Commit this year - been experimenting with a few other things, and owe you an update. i might tinker with commitments as a passion project in the future, but as for the startup part - i'm shutting down Commit (there won't be v2 or community sale). to be clear, i still: - love programmable commitments and see lots of meaningful, fun use cases - believe a product like this could be important and profitable - think blockchain uniquely enables powerful use cases for commitments but at some point you have to make a hard call. i'll share what's next in due time. deepest gratitude to all the users, contributors, and partners who've been part of this journey.

a year since we launched Commit v1. ~3k users, ~$180k in commits, 5 complete app+protocol iterations. today: all commits complete, rewards distributed, v1 sunset. grateful to all our users, contributors, and partners. what's next: Commit v2 + community sale. stay tuned!

Commit v1 and beyond will be highly opinionated. we may not be right every time, but we will be bold and persistent in our experiments.

we’re wireframing a new @commitwtf web app this time collaborating with an amazing designer (vs yours truly freestyling UI). the whole process makes me so happy - it’s finally coming together, at least in terms of design lol

gamifying loss aversion primitives onchain

i want to be part of a world where our commitments mean something and have a tangible, liquid price. creating a net new asset class of tokenized promises, making the 'commitment markets' vision come to life. there's so much work to do to get onchain commitments culturally enforceable -- but once we do: not 'committing' with financial+social stakes will be seen as unserious and unacceptable, esp when it comes to larger societal coordination challenges.

what we’re focused on next @commitwtf • removing friction -- minimizing steps between discovery and committing • commit v0.5 ft. UX improvements, incl. milestone-based commits • embracing mobile -- starting with a better mini app experience • focusing on ONE use case, while still allowing other commits to happen organically • growth: testing traction channels, supporting new+existing creators, and collaborating with partners • first round: strategic funding and/or community round. note: we’ve been bootstrapping for ~7 months • hiring 1–2 fullstack eng to ship faster any feedback/support is much appreciated as we keep building what people love.
