Imagine showing up to work every day but not knowing if you can pay your bills.
Imagine showing up to work every day, doing the same thing, except one month you made $2500 and on the same platform the next month you donโt even break $500.
In the past, your good months carried your slower months, but good months are harder to come by as cost of living rises, and customers have less spending money.
You still show up (because this is your job) and push through hoping itโs just a bad month and not the new normal. You fight the urge to be reactive and make changes to how you operate your businessโbecause maybe itโs not external factors, maybe youโre a failure now and everything you do sucks?
We love to get stuck in our heads and take every bad day, session, month, etc. personal.
Nevertheless, we put on our make up and try our best to set all that uncertainty and stress off the side without letting it erode our confidence or spark. Inside weโre struggling, but we put on a smile. Inside, the anxiety is crippling but the truth isnโt sexy and sexy is the job.
And nowโฆ
Imagine pushing through the stress to show up to work only to discover:
โ Youโve been deplatformed and no longer have access to your community or customers. Congratulations! Now you get to start over.
โ The powers that be decided the porn youโve been filming is now too obscene. Itโs not illegal, but you canโt sell it anywhere! Oops! Now the inventory you can profit from shrinks and you lost hours/days/weeks/months/years of your work.
This is the reality sex workers wake up to every fucking day, and it takes itโs toll.

Hi. Just because you know another sex worker does not mean they are entitled to collaborate with you! You can still be in community and engage respectfully with each other, but neither of you are entitled to make content. Pressuring others to work with you is gross:)

Friendly reminder that anyone can pretty much film and post anything - someone having done a thing on film doesn't necessarily make it acceptably safe. This goes double for things that you just happen to have dreamed up in your fevered imaginings!
Risk management and harm minimisation are a huge part of a classical Dommes job. Saying no where appropriate and/or suggesting alternative activities is ethical practice.

PSA to any woman, or anyone inexperienced, thinking about getting into sex work
Be extremely skeptical of anyone whose entire brand is built around flashing stacks of cash, luxury gifts, designer bags, and a supposedly effortless lifestyle while promising theyโll teach you the game.
The lifestyle is the advertisement. You are the customer.
The second someone starts selling courses on how to swerve, trick, or secure the bag, ask yourself why theyโre making more money selling access to you than they are from the lifestyle theyโre trying to convince you is so lucrative.
The most dangerous people arenโt always the ones who openly call themselves pimps. Sometimes theyโre the ones who wrap exploitation in the language of female empowerment, mentorship, and community.
If someoneโs business model depends on constantly recruiting inexperienced women into their orbit, thatโs a glaring red flag. If theyโre promising wealth while minimizing the risks, theyโre selling a fantasy, not education.
The people worth listening to are the ones who tell you about boundaries, safety, financial planning, coercion, violence, burnout, taxes, and how to leave the industry if you choose, not just how to buy your next Chanel bag.
A mentor wants you to become independent. A recruiter wants you to become profitable. Learn the difference before you mistake one for the other.

Texas Attorney General, and now Republican nominee for the Texas Senate Ken Paxton gave his friend 28 days in jail after he repeatedly raped a young boy.
He does not have to register as a sex offender.
He didnโt even lose his license to practice law.

Goddex Viscous makes a lot of excellent pointsโI want to piggyback on their point about reality vs fantasy.
When you go to a Michelin star restaurant youโre expecting meals to be exquisitely plated, prepared with top-of-the-line equipment by a top-tier chef. Sure, anyone can cook/prepare a delicious meal at home, but if youโre expecting the Michelin star experience, you wonโt find it in your kitchen.
Itโs not that lifestyle Dommes are a scarce commodity, but you have to be able to differentiate between whatโs reality and fantasy.
I saw a man in these comments who read all of this and had the audacity to ask, "what about content slaves" as if he'd found a loophole to bypass payment for sessions with a pro Dominatrix. Let Me spell it out for you all so that you are not confused. Civilian "Content slaves" very often pay MORE for the privilege of being featured in content, and the ones who don't have their own thriving sex work accounts and platforms. Untrained, inexperienced and unskilled = disruptive on set, difficult to work with, not camera ready, more time and trouble than it's worth. Hoping to bypass a Dommes paywall by being a content partner as an unskilled fetishist is a delusional self-centered fantasy focused on gratification of your own submissive sexual fantasies that does nothing for a Domme. It is an incredibly poor value prospect when there are plenty of established submissive male content creators and trained, experienced stunt bottoms who will do content trades, most of whom also have lighting videography and editing skills to go with it. And to I'd also like to add to Vi's original point about finding a lifestyle Domme that the best lifestyle Dommes who have the skills, equipment, spaces, training and the kinds of beauty you lot lust after are by and large already working professionals. There is no secret reservoir of highly skilled beautiful woman with their own dungeons and huge collections of expensive toys and devices and bondage furniture waiting around to gratify your submissive sexual fantasies for free. Domination is a luxury and all luxury commands its price. The Women who spend years or even decades honing this craft to the point where they could fill the roll of Seductress and Destroyer in your submissive sexual fantasies are already doing this professionally. Most of you don't just want a vanilla woman or some random to be your Domme. You want a SEX WORKER, even if it's one who's skilled enough to sell you the fantasy that she's the "mean boss/girl next door." You don't want an untrained amateur who can't throw single tail clumsily fumbling to assemble your chastity device and breaking the illusion of dominance with her novice. Let's be honest, you lot have a hard enough time maintaining the fantasy of dominance when a woman shows even a scrap of vulnerability or humanity. Your fantasies are lofty, idealized theater in which your facilitator is elevated to the role of a Diety. You demand unflappable Dominance, pageantry and pathos with elaborate props, complex themes, multiple costume changes and set design. Whether you know it or not, you are looking for a PRO DOMINATRIX. Even when โ hell, ESPECIALLY when โ you fantasize about seeking FLR. The bottom line is that for 99% of submissive men, handsome payment will almost always be the barrier to entry into the kinds of elaborate submissive sexual fantasies you play host to. Why not demonstrate your value by working towards this goal and approaching correctly instead of trying to poke holes in our personal and professional boundaries to find a way to get what you want for free?
