We've added a tab switcher in Comet to make it easier to cycle between your 5 most recent tabs. On Mac, use Opt+Tab. On Windows, you can turn on Ctrl+Tab as an opt‑in shortcut.

Harvard and Perplexity researchers conducted the first large‑scale field study of how people use AI agents. We analyzed hundreds of millions of anonymized user interactions in Comet to answer three questions: who’s using agents, how much, and what for. perplexity.ai/hub/blog/how-p…

Replying to @comet
@comet’s agent mode is quickly becoming one of my favorite features. just gave it a simple task and it handled almost everything for me, only had to manually confirm a few small steps. seriously impressive.

A trustworthy AI Assistant must be personal, transparent, and have sound judgement. Comet now shows you exactly what it’s doing, lets you determine how it acts, and asks permission before completing sensitive actions. Read our latest blog post: perplexity.ai/hub/blog/comet…

Switched back to @comet from ChatGPT Atlas. Not being able to switch to Google as the default search engine is a showstopper. AI as your primary search experience is too annoying and slow. Also, got hooked on Cmd-Shift-C to copy URL.

Perplexity Comet is so good, just give it a task and let comet cook. I gave it access to my GitHub repo and asked it to set up a webhook to listen for push events, and it actually did it. It pulled the webhook URL from another tab, configured it correctly, selected the right event, and it worked perfectly.

I use @Comet as my default browser. Prior to that it was Dia, and before that Arc. Comet is the only AI browser I’ve found actually useful, because it’s agentic (but also polished *cough Atlas*). It saves me a LOT of time researching things and making decisions. I’ll have multiple tabs open across Amazon, Vistek, and other camera stores, shopping for a specific accessory. I can @ mention the relevant tabs and ask it to research which of these fit my use case best, what the pros/cons/reviews are, and which it recommends. I also trust the search results more because it’s built on @perplexity_ai which has been shown to be the most accurate and reliable quick AI search. I’ve asked things like “Find the recent Waveform podcast episode where they talked about the new Meta Rayban glasses. Pull up the tab for me at the exact timestamp” and 30s later (as I’m back to what I was working on) the tab suddenly appears playing the correct episode 41m in, and they’re talking about the glasses. Just last wekeend, I couldn’t find the textbook I was looking for, because it was a specific (recent) Canadian edition. So I asked Comet to “find me a direct PDF download of this [textbook name].” It used it’s own computer to navigate multiple sites for around 10 minutes straight, and then came back to me with three links, two of which worked flawlessly (textbook secured). I totally get the skepticism around AI browsers, but trust me, Comet feels different; it genuinely feels like a glimpse into the future of accessing the internet, and I have not had that experience with any other AI browser. @AravSrinivas’s team cooked with this one 😫

Perplexity Comet is more impressive than people are giving it credit for. At least one person on my team bought a subscription within a few minutes of testing and thinks it will replace his Chrome use. A few thoughts from our team’s testing: - Research: comparable to ChatGPT, brought in good visuals - Labs (projects): generated its own images, text felt similar to Research - Voice: you know I love a good voice interface, you can tell it to pull up a link and it will do it for you - Webpage summary: big room for improvement

Just used @PerplexityComet to create a Google Feedback Form for my app Kriya 🚀 Wish it was as fast as this sped-up video, but honestly it feels amazing to offload this task to Comet in the background while I spent my time coding instead. great stuff @AravSrinivas
