NEW from me: Being incarcerated doesn’t—or shouldn’t—mean giving up the right to access information. But that freedom is routinely limited or not extended. Prison librarians are changing that. #critlib #CDNlongform @comebacksnacks @PASAN_TO @booksforinmates @MB_Lib_Assn
"Every day, thousands of incarcerated people in Canada could be denied their fundamental right to access to information and library services. Lack of access to books can make a hopeless situation feel worse."
A must-read from @sinclair_les:

Meet Emily.
Emily made a mistake years ago and has paid her debt to society. Now, she runs her own popcorn company @ComebackSnacks.
Having a prior conviction shouldn't be a life sentence, it's time to break the cycle of stigma around incarceration, which leads to poverty.
