Why did concept cars get so serious?
Where's the fun? The passion? The sex?
I'm not sure if this is brutalist, but it's not far off.
Regular folks — I believe the term is “normies” — figuring out how to design & build generic digital products with AI tools
aka monkeys with guns
only bad things can happen
empowerment is not on that list
Hey, what exactly are we doing now?
Like exactly?

Most people I've observed who use the word ironic in a sentence are using it incorrectly. What they're describing 99.9% of the time are coincidences.
Increasingly over the last ~10 years, most of the “podcasts” I see are not —from a technical definition—podcasts.
They're talk shows. You have a talk show. Just call it a talk show.
There's no shame in having minimal effort, freeform, rambling talk show loosely defined around a witty or not-witty title where you recall how events in your childhood defined the person you are today and how it's important to have stick-to-it-tiveness in life and goals are important and stuff about conviction and something something success and perseverance and you were at the lowest point in your life and that's when you saw the light and also stoicism.
(sidenote: Can comedians go back to honing their craft and creating great stand-up specials instead of interviewing prominent politicians on their talk shows with zero sense of responsibility as defined by Stan Lee in Spiderman?)
If you truly want a podcast you need to publish a series of media files, typically in MP3 format, through an RSS feed. Publishing in this open format allows your feed to be syndicated by any app or platform.
Shows exclusive to a platform like Spotify or YouTube are simply and only that: shows.
What's wrong with having a show?
(sidenote: most people use “air quotes” incorrectly too. They're used to express sarcasm, irony, skepticism, and doubt)
Remember "flat design"?
Design trends are like fashion trends. They come and go and come back again.
We got a skeuomorphic cassette player, and I'm also seeing a resurrected imitation of the Cover Flow UI used in the original iOS Music app.
We can argue about the practicality of an app like this, but I want you to think about why Apple is the only company where people feel inspired to use their platforms as a playground and have fun with design.
Duo-Man offers the complete walkman experience on the iPhone Duo. Open the Duo to pick and 'insert' the cassette, Close the Duo to start listening.
Yes, I actually recorded the button clicks and static noise from a real Walkman!
It was fun making this at @bitrig hacks today.
My good friend Mark built a great chess visualization app. Check it out. 🤩
ChessVectors.com, a free interactive #chess visualization tool that helps players see the relationships btwn pieces through real time attack/defense/pin lines and hanging piece detection. Analyze, play engine, or import games. Dm any suggestions or requests.

'Cheap Simulacras' is a good name for a band.
Homeboy desperately wants his own walled garden and all his billions won’t help him get it because he’s a man with no good consumer product ideas.
He has created the greatest ad platform
in history, so respect where it’s due.
…and inventing the Poke button. Can’t forget about that.
After his successes in VR and AI, I’m curious to see what industry gets his Midas touch next.
Mark Zuckerberg says Apple refused to let Ray-Ban Meta glasses use AirPods’ iPhone protocol to connect seamlessly.
"We basically asked them for the Ray-Ban Meta glasses that we built... can we basically use the protocol that they use for AirPods and some of these other things to just make it so we can as easily connect."
"One of the protocols that they've used, that they built, they basically didn't encrypt it, so it's like plain text. And then they're like, 'Well, we can't have you plug into it because it would be insecure.'"
Create the thing everyone copies and then you have something.
All you have now is derivative slop.
Looks like it’s worth about $0.25 so you got ripped off.
