Open Heart, Open Heart When I think of this grandmother, generosity is perhaps the only appropriate lens through which to tell her story. Canon Jolly Hope Babirukamu is generous to a fault. And true to her name, she is joyful in her generosity. She doesn’t just give; she delights in giving For many years, she ran a textile business. And even there, she found ways to give. One of them was providing material for uniforms for members of the Anglican Youth Fellowship Choir (AYF). Her home, too, is an expression of her generosity. Jolly had five biological children, but motherhood was never limited to the children she gave birth to. At one point, her home was filled with children- some relatives, some not; some whose families had fallen on difficult times, others who had lost parents. She welcomed them. She fed them. She raised them. She mothered them. For Jolly, motherhood extended beyond biology. It was a calling. Perhaps that is why her house was always full. An open home was simply the natural consequence of an open heart. And that generosity has extended far beyond her home. Jolly has given years of service to the Church of Uganda, including through Mothers’ Union and many other roles. She has served through Pan African Christian Women's Association (PACWA) and the Inner Wheel Club, where she was President. She has walked alongside the grandmothers of Nyaka and today serves as Chairperson of the Grandmothers Consortium of Uganda. This, too, is generosity: the giving of time, skills, ideas, leadership, influence, intellect, and, of course, treasure. But there is something else about Jolly’s generosity that moves me. She does not have to know you to care about you. She can hear about someone’s plight through the news and be moved enough to do something. Again and again, stories of people in difficulty have reached her heart, and she has stepped forward to help people she may never have met before. Jolly is a woman who has continually made room for others. Room in her home. Room in her family. Room in her leadership. Room in her heart. What a beautiful expression of African generosity. Today, through #GoGrandma, I celebrate Canon Jolly Hope Babirukamu, a grandmother whose life reminds us that sometimes the greatest generosity is simply this: making room for another person. #GoGrandma #AfricanGenerosity #GenerosityLivesHere @CivLegacy_F @GivingTueAfrica @colmug @EmmaMugisha2

During last month's AI Data: From Hype to Enterprise Value roundtable, Mr. Collin Babirukamu, Chairman of our Advisory Council, set the tone for the discussion by reflecting on why these conversations matter. He emphasized that meaningful progress is driven by continuous interaction, peer learning, and the open exchange of ideas. By creating a trusted space for candid discussions, leaders can learn from one another, gain practical insights, and return to their organizations ready to take the next step. Key takeaways from his remarks: 🔵 "You must start somewhere." Every meaningful initiative begins with a willingness to take the first step. 🔵 Peer learning drives progress. Bringing leaders together to share experiences and perspectives creates opportunities for continuous learning and informed decision-making. 🔵 A trusted space matters. Open dialogue and constructive deliberation strengthen collaboration and inspire action across organizations. 🔵 A shared commitment to leadership. The Advisory Council reaffirmed its continued support for the Forum and its mission to empower a strong community of digital leaders. #CIOCXODLF #CIOCXORoundtableSeries

I was deeply honored to be part of the book launch and to celebrate the Man of God. What a powerful moment!
The retired Archbishop of the @ChurchofUganda_ , Rt Rev Dr Henry Luke Orombi (now Bishop Orombi), yesterday launched his book titled, The Man Who Heard Every Heart, at Sheraton Hotel Kampala. The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu @Archbp_COU , was the Guest of Honour, while @mtnug Chairman, Charles Mbire was the Chief Guest. Written by Grace Joy Nakalema, the book is a compilation of powerful testimonies from people whose lives were spiritually transformed through Bishop Orombi's ministry. Among those featured is Bishop @AsiimweOnesimus (famously known as Uncle O). Bishop Orombi has always had a special love and message for young people, making them a priority throughout his ministry. While I was in Senior Four at San Giovanni School Makiro, in Kanungu District, the then Archbishop Orombi visited the Diocese of Kinkiizi. I always admired his eloquent voice and powerful evangelical preaching. I escaped from school to see him preach at Nyakatare. The crowds were so large that I climbed a tree just to catch a glimpse of him. Rev. Canon Patrick Habasa translated the sermon. What a man of God! His message left a lasting impact on my life. I am grateful that, years later, I had the privilege of knowing him personally and that he came to know me and even call me by name. Every time we meet, I remember that day. Like Zacchaeus, I found myself in a tree, eager to see the man through whom God was speaking. Ebenezer, Thus far the Lord has helped us. 1 Samuel 7:12.

It's me, Janet Museveni. It is a confirmation that the God I talk about is a living God. He is not a myth, He lives! I must therefore thank Uganda, beginning with Mzee, who has prayed with the whole nation. I praise God for leading us to know Him. Thank you all for coming out publicly to pray for me. Thank you for all those continuous prayers and also for the kind birthday wishes. Thank you for letting me know just how much I am loved.

IN NEWS TODAY: We are charting an ambitious path to transform Uganda's digital economy by developing a pipeline of more than 200,000 highly skilled technology professionals by 2035, empowering the nation to compete and thrive in the global digital landscape. #DigitalTransformation #DigitalEconomy
RECAP: At our inaugural CIO Conclave, keynote speaker Mr. Collin Babirukamu shared powerful insights on the priorities shaping today's technology leaders (CIOs). Some of the key takeaways from his address included: 🔵Bridging the gap between technical expertise and effective communication. Deep knowledge creates value, but the ability to clearly communicate the "why" and "how" determines impact. 🔵Giving soft skills the same level of importance as technical certifications, as leadership and influence are critical in driving organizational success. 🔵Moving beyond siloed operations and fostering greater collaboration by sharing experiences, lessons learned, and best practices to strengthen Uganda's technology ecosystem. 🔵Investing in the next generation of talent. While technology continues to evolve, from WordPerfect to AI-driven solutions, the foundations of curiosity, continuous learning, and professional networking remain timeless. 🔵Building visibility and influence to effectively advocate for the resources, support, and strategic changes needed to deliver meaningful outcomes. Watch the video for the full address and hear more of @colmug's insights on the future of technology leadership. “Congratulations on @Starlink's arrival in Uganda to connect Ugandans all over the country to internet access for the first time with cutting-edge American satellite technology!”
I witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and operational licence agreement between the Uganda Communications Commission and Starlink, marking an important step towards the commencement of their operations in Uganda. Our interest is security, revenue assurance, and proper accountability within the telecommunications sector so that we know who is operating and who the customers are. I am pleased that Starlink has agreed to comply with Uganda’s laws and regulatory requirements as it prepares to begin service delivery in the country. I wish them good luck.
