A long overdue update:
In late 2025, I launched a legacy website to honor what would have been my dad's 100th year. I've been slowly adding to it since and just completed the latest refresh. If you're a Richard Yates fan, I hope you'll stop by. Cheers

Sister Wendy Beckett, standing before a Mark Rothko BOTD understood the risk of seeing the work too quickly: as beautiful colour, and nothing more.
But Rothko was interested in “basic human emotions, tragedy, ecstasy, doom and so on.”

Every 90 minutes, someone in the UK or Ireland dies by suicide.
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Suicide is not inevitable. You can interrupt someone’s suicidal thoughts. You could save a life.
I've shared this video before; it's message remains as important and powerful as ever. You won't always know someone needs help so why not message that friend now and just check in?

Billy Wilder’s 11 Tips For Screenwriters:
1. The audience is fickle.
2. Grab ’em by the throat and never let em go.
3. Develop a clean line of action for your leading character.
4. Know where you're going.
5. The more subtle and elegant you are in hiding your plot points, the better you are as a writer.
6. If you have a problem with the third act, the real problem is in the first act.
7. A tip from Lubitsch: Let the audience add up two plus two. They'll love you forever.
8. In doing voice-overs, be careful not to describe what the audience already sees. Add to what they are seeing.
9. The event that occurs at the second-act curtain triggers the end of the movie.
10. The third act must build, build, build in tempo and action until the last event, and then—
11. —that’s it. Don’t hang around.

The entire history of AC Milan is in tears following the passing of Franco Baresi. His example and integrity will be forever etched into the Club's DNA, just as his iconic number 6 shirt is. The condolences AC Milan extends to Franco Baresi's family at such a difficult time are shared by every Rossonero, who feels this loss as their own.
