Two years before Star Wars changed her life, 17-year-old Carrie Fisher was propositioning Warren Beatty in her film debut, Shampoo. Makes you wonder what might’ve happened if she’d never become a princess. Her timing was always exquisite... that last line.

Helen Mirren and Liam Neeson just casually admitted they used to live together… and the story of how he first saw her is pure cinema. Graham thinks he’s just introducing the guests. Instead he drops the bomb: “You two dated.” Helen corrects him instantly — “We didn’t date, we lived together.” Liam just smiles like a man who’s been holding this secret for forty years. Then he tells the story. 1980. Excalibur. Ardmore Studios. He’s a complete unknown, green as grass, visiting the set with his best mate Ciarán Hinds. Helen is already filming, dressed head-to-toe as Morgana Le Fay. She walks toward them from a hundred yards away in full costume… Liam and Ciarán both just go “fuck.” He was smitten on the spot. And the best part? Helen is sitting right next to him hearing this for the first time. The look on her face is priceless. Old Hollywood legends just casually revealing they used to be a serious item and the exact second he fell for her. Absolute perfection.
AJ walks into Devin’s mansion and suddenly discovers that being rich and looking rich are two completely different things. He’s used to growing up in a wealthy household, with expensive cars, a big house, and a father who has serious money. But visiting Devin makes him realize there are levels of privilege he hasn’t even imagined. The size of the mansion and the things inside it leave him and his friend looking like tourists in a world they thought they already belonged to. What makes the scene funny is that AJ has spent so much time benefiting from his family’s status without really understanding where he stands in the bigger picture. He thinks of himself as privileged, but Devin’s family gives him a new standard to measure himself against. It’s a small moment, but it exposes something very human: even people who have more than enough can feel poor when they meet someone who has much more. Sometimes wealth doesn't make you feel powerful. It just introduces you to a more expensive kind of insecurity. Source:

“The Immortal Memory” : Nelson’s Coat from the Battle of Trafalgar On this day, 21 October 1805, Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson led the Royal Navy to what is probably its most famous victory, the Battle of Trafalgar. But it came at the highest personal cost. The coat pictured, now preserved at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, was worn by Nelson aboard HMS Victory during the battle. Look closely, and you’ll see a small, hole on the left shoulder. That mark was made by the musket ball fired by a French marine from the Redoutable. It struck Nelson around 1:15 p.m., passed through his shoulder and spine, and lodged in his lower back. He was carried below decks, where he would die a few hours later, learning before he died that his fleet had triumphed against the Franco‐Spanish fleet. Nelson’s death sent shockwaves across Britain. Trafalgar ensured British naval dominance for a century, but it also transformed Nelson from a national hero into an immortal legend. The phrase “The Immortal Memory” is still toasted by the Royal Navy. (📸Photo my own, Marcus Cribb)

The “F.U.” joke in The Odd Couple almost got cut. On Broadway, producers panicked about profanity rules; Mike Nichols refused to budge. Opening night, Walter Matthau delivered the line, the audience filled in the blanks and erupted. By the time it hit the screen, everyone knew it

RIGHT NOW in 1805, British warships led by HMS Victory are in action against a combined French & Spanish fleet off Cape Trafalgar. The cannonade is so furious it can be heard 50 miles away on the steps of Cadiz cathedral.

Mel Brooks' king in History of the World: Part 1 was inspired by the Hollywood version of Louis XVI. The joke targets the pompous, wildly theatrical style of 1930s–50s prestige adaptations like The Man in the Iron Mask (1939). "It's good to be the king."
