Time to remember, time to commemorate, time to laugh, time to cry. Time to wear your Poppy with Pride. Lest we Forget…..

25 years since 9/11. The tragedy of the day, the bravery of the first responders and for those of us whose lives were changed forever because of that day. What binds us together must be stronger than the forces that look to divide us..

Wondering whether some of this cost could be avoided if we hired a suitable candidate (if local) rather than the best candidate (from off-island).

5 years since the fall of Kabul. I reflect on my thoughts at the time; pride in those I served with, frustration that we failed, anger at the politicians who allowed it, and a visceral concern for what would happen to the people (especially the women) of that beautiful country.

With thanks to the Last Post Ieper team. We were honoured to lay a wreath at the Last Post at the Menin Gate. A memorable and moving evening.

A Memorial Day. Remembering both the scale of the loss and the personal sacrifice. From Etaples, the bridge built by the 245 (Guernsey) Army Troops Company, to the Last Post at the Menin Gate. Lest we Forget…

Thanks to everyone who attended the ride out to support Lee Corbet and his fundraising for the DGR. You can still donate by scanning the QR code in the picture. Great to see some new faces, I hope you enjoyed yourselves and we look forward to seeing you again soon. M

Almost 9 years ago we took the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry memorial to France. It was an adventure but also a pilgrimage. Many years later the memory of the men of Guernsey and what they did in those dark days of WW1 remains a source of pride and remembrance.

Beyond the insult to those who served, died or were wounded… It is an utterly shameful slight on the families we left behind… I remain proud of those I served with; whether they were British, US or other Allied Nations. I’m sure they were thankful we fought with them.

Our Maddie has crossedthe Rainbow Bridge. 9 years old so far too soon. Years of laughter, bouncing, snuggling. A truely gentle soul. She fought to stay with us yesterday until we could all be with her at the vets. Then seeing the last of her pack had arrived she gently passed.
