ACDC #189 - ultra tl;dr
DFI:
🪓 7716: Anti-Correlation Attestation Penalties
🪓 8025: Optional Execution Proofs
🪓 8359: Beacon Block Reporting Field
🪓 8371: RowDAS
generally liked EIPs, but teams found that they weren't urgent enough to schedule (7716, 8359, 8371) or that they could be tackled without CFI (8025)
5 more EIPs to assess next meeting

Nice to see how EIP-8025 spec efforts in L1 are also helping native rollup experimentation!
announcing nativerollups.fyi, a closed devnet based on frames-devnet-0 running a (half mocked) native rollup on top
a native rollup is an L2 that inherits L1's STF directly, greatly reducing complexity, governance and bug risks. here's how it works 🧵

Please welcome to the world a beautiful new geometric object, to do with a problem i’ve always loved. claude really contains multitudes:D Does S^6 admit a complex structure?
Yup

I'm currently returning to Toronto from a summit on the future of mathematics, at OpenAI. @SebastienBubeck asked me to talk a bit about the future we'd all like to avoid, where humans are mathematically disempowered. @Jacob_Tsimerman advised us to try to prioritize detail over correctness, and I have no doubt that I succeeded in deprioritizing correctness.
I tried to find a title that wasn't too bombastic:

We just released zkvmBlast: a zkVM-agnostic differential fuzzer for RISC-V zkVMs.
One program, run across SP1, RISC0, OpenVM, Pico, Zisk and Airbender plus a reference simulator. Every disagreement is a bug lead.
Partially funded by the @ethereumfndn
Ephemeral UIs is one of my favorite AI unlocks, highly suggest building these but without any of the special skills, which tend to me too opinionated and heavy

Britain has scrapped its national digital ID scheme.
This is the right decision. A centralised database of every resident's identity is a breach waiting to happen.
We argued this in our consultation response to the UK government.

I built the bash version of the EVM github.com/dangerousfood/bas…
on proving code: with these specs in hand we can formally verify zkVMs at *every level* - the constraints, the proof systems, all of the cryptography, even the EVM that runs inside the zkVM. in each case, we use Lean to prove that the code conforms with our specs. (5/n)
Shout out to @class_lambda for being the first to full eth-act ISA compliance
Based on my lurking of the Github branch activity of @openvm_org, it seems that RV64 will land in v2.1.0. Praying for RV64IM_Zicclsm🤞🙏
All of this plus the excellent work on standardization by my teammates @MBugajEth and @ignaciohagopian means that we are rapidly approaching a world where we have interoperability between ZKVMs and Ethereum state transition function implementations. Exciting times!
Even as a former academic I cannot figure out why academics use git in such obviously ridiculous ways
I believe that, in the near future, AI will give us safer, more reliable digital systems using formal verification.
Today we must ask: What does FV actually give us, in practice? My latest blog post investigates this question using SP1 Hypercube as a case study within the zkVM landscape.

Here’s the story👇
Great care must be taken not only when conducting formal verification, but also when communicating results. My blog post touches on this, but I also recommend the excellent recent work eprint.iacr.org/2026/192 of @kaepora for a more complete take on best practices.
We absolutely should adopt formal methods to harden zkVMs, holding ourselves to very high standards. When doing this, we can't let "perfect" be the enemy of "good". The work of @SuccinctLabs and @Nethermind is a valuable hardening step, and I thank them for their efforts 🙏
