Anyone that knows me, knows that I love teaching. It is SO cool to be able to create 3d worlds for software teaching

I’ve been sitting in a waiting room for 2 hours.
During that time, I’ve been optimizing the performance of our UI QA tests.
I got certain tests down from 12 minutes to 3 minutes with zero loss in coverage.
And I did all of it from my phone using T3 and Claude Code.
What a time to be alive.

The biggest issue I have with Sol is that I simply don’t trust it.
It feels like it does the wrong thing for me far too often.
And on the other side, Astra feels better, but the usage doesn’t even last me a full day.
This is why Opus 5.5 is kicking serious ass right now

I think monthly SaaS subscriptions are going to get harder to justify, especially for products that do one thing an AI assistant could help someone do themselves.
I’m interested in a model where the core product is free or a one-time purchase, and there’s a monthly option for AI features that do useful work inside the app.
The part I keep coming back to is what that app gives someone beyond the LLM they already use.

Have to switch to Sol 6.1 now. Went through my Opus 5.5 usage twice (with a reset).
These API costs would have been wild though

I expect team size and sprint duration to shrink. Planning effort will increase with productivity. It will be hard for the planners to keep up. Customer coupling will increase for the same reason.
Pair/Mob programming will decline and be replaced by some other form of collaboration I can’t foresee.
Overall the agile ideology of short cycles with intense feedback will be the only viable option. It’s the only way I know of to manage hyper productivity.

I've been reflecting on this. I'm generally a very optimistic person, but lately I've been feeling a strange sense of sadness that coding has been "solved".
I can, and have, made many caveats to "solved"... but I also know that in five years none of them will matter. It will be solved.
Building things is still fun, but a different kind of fun. It doesn't activate the same parts of my brain as trad coding did.
I think it's okay to mourn the thing we loved doing being different now. Software was the first job to go through the five AI stages of grief, which means we're also some of the first to internalize that this will happen to many other jobs.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

Everyone is so focused on what they can automate with AI that they forget to ask, “Should this even exist?”
Elimination is often more powerful than automation.

We've raised a $143M Series C at a $1.5B valuation.
In 2023 we spent our time arguing that AI code needed its own reviewer. That argument is over. The work now is moving into the change itself.
This is where we think Agentic Change Management comes in.

Since June 12, we’ve been working closely with the US government to restore access to Claude Mythos 5 and Fable 5. Today, the government notified us that Mythos 5, our strongest cybersecurity model, can be redeployed to a set of US organizations that operate and defend critical infrastructure.
We’re restoring access for these organizations quickly, and we’re continuing to work with the government to expand access to Mythos 5 and make Fable 5 available for general use again.

A lot of Google hate lately, most of which is deserved. But I just wanna remind people there’s a VERY long list of people that took a Google internal tool or paper and later started an entire company out of it, by making it available to the public.
If there’s problems at Google, they’re not with the people, they’re cultural.
There’s a wide distribution of engineers obviously, so even dummies like me get lumped in with the genius level programmers, but I would never bet against Google.
