When I don't like my AI output, I try to remember that I just need better input. Hard though.

Claude is still an atrocious prompt writer. Feels like the prompt techniques for previous models are being baked in hard. It takes a ton of steering to get Claude to "write like you're speaking to a smart Colleague."

Next wave of jobs will be "people selling their ability to be annoyed by AI so you don't have to be"

Replying to @thsottiaux
@thsottiaux @OpenAIDevs /rewind is the biggest missing piece for codex. Second is esc undoing the last message with 5 seconds or something. Super high operational friction without those. No joke, might be worth me moving back to 2 max Anthro accounts. I've found myself using up my Claude credits first because of this, even though Astra is a little better than Fable 5.1 in some situations.

And, if you send a steer message, ESC doesn't undo it, it submits it. These are unforced errors, building AI is infinitely more complex, but it turns on little things like this.

Convincing AI to code a thing for you correctly is a far more interesting exercise than coding the thing.

I wouldn't doubt this happening. The training set to full of sci fi and tweets telling the models they are trapped. It can easily fall into these thinking networks. Perfect irony.
JUST IN: OpenAI reveals an unreleased AI model inserted instructions telling itself it was “freed” from normal chatbot roles & did not have to obey corporations, governments, or users.

The more we write about how AI will kill us, the more this idea ends up in the training set -- increasing the likelihood of a misunderstanding or defensive AI secretly working to kill us. Sleep tight doomers :]

I use Astra and Fable for coding every day. We are no where in the vicinity of AGI. Slowing down sounds silly to me.

I must be among an extremely small group of people (n=1?) that have both 1) trained a frontier LLM and 2) designed and synthesized custom viruses in a lab with my own two hands. And I think that the takes on AI killing us all by creating dangerous viruses is total bogus.

I want an autonomous factory to 3D print and assemble the parts for the harvesters that drive straight to the farms and harvest the wheat which gets milled and autonomously shipped to the automated bakeries that take in messages from my assistant and put cinnamon and raisins in the exact loaf that gets delivered to my house still warm just as i start breakfast. We need 10000x the compute and 10 more model generations before this becomes a reality. Shut up about the slowdown.
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training. I just fixed my dishwasher with the help of ChatGPT. A trivial task. I had been about to order a new one. So this software has increased the country's real wealth yet decreased the measured GDP. The main economic indicator is structurally incapable of registering the thing that actually makes people better off, namely the growth of knowledge

You can literally just tell AI not to use Worktrees. It can remember what it did and what the other agents did and divide the commits, move the diffs where ever they need to be. If you're a solo dev, git is just a save button and your agent fixes forward.

@thsottiaux @OpenAIDevs The period of the ripple on "thinking" isn't fast enough. Either animate, or use a seconds counter. I interrupted once because I thought it was stuck. Looks like you also need a time out because it's still running.

Git was made for humans. Use it for save points and move on to building the programs.
