TL;DR & why I’m here
In 2022, I completed my B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering.
From 2022 to 2024, I worked as a mobile application developer, building apps for clients and learning the ropes of real-world development.
Those two years taught me discipline, deadlines, and the grind of making other people’s visions come to life.
In 2024, I started freelancing working on projects for multiple clients, juggling tasks, and understanding what it really takes to run your own ship. I learned a ton, but I also realized something important: building for others is great, but it doesn’t fulfill me.
So, in 2025, I decided to shift gears. Now, I’m building products for myself projects that reflect my ideas, my experiments, and my vision. Every line of code I write now is for something I truly care about, and it’s an entirely different kind of thrill.
I’m still figuring it all out, but that’s the point. This is my journey of learning, experimenting, failing, and creating on my own terms.
Own it.
Ship it.
Show it.
Nobody else will live your story for you, so make it loud and proud.

Build habits that build you
The idea is pretty straightforward: instead of trying to change your entire life at once, pick a few habits and consistently show up for them

Reminder: If your app just hit $1K MRR, be proud.
Most apps on the App Store never get there.
Most startups never become profitable.
$1K MRR looks small on X.
In the real world, it's proof that strangers pay for something you built.
That's the hardest part. The rest is scaling.
How to get user ?

I finished 1st 🥇 on my age group and 5th in the male category.
I failed my ambitious goal of sub-60 but I was very happy with my race. And I have a nice goal to chase for the next few months.
All the staff at the Hyrox venue knew us! I even talked to the manager of Hyrox Turkey/Dubai/Greece. His name his Mustafa and he let my wife inside the athlete zone to shot videos for our YouTube channel.
It’s my first Hyrox and the energy is insane. Everybody is fit, sexy and topless. There’s a DJ and MC so it feels like a gym-club in Bali. No surprise this sport is growing so much!
This little experiment is engraved in my head.
The last 2 weeks have been surreal. Getting paid $112,000 to race, receiving a fancy car at my hotel lobby, getting recognized by a lot of people, my first race… so many things to process!
I want to thank my sponsors who made this possible:
- higgsfield.ai by @higgsfield (10 spots!)
- zerorank.ai by @kelvincobanaj
- samslist.com by @notgokgreen
- orcarouter.ai by @orcarouter
- peptideconfidential.com by @peptideconfiden
- getstanley.ai by @jayhoovy (🍑)
I want to thank my wife for always trusting in me and pushing me to try whatever crosses my mind.
I want to thank all of you who supported the idea, online and offline.
And I want to thank me for believing in myself. I was lost for so long. I felt misunderstood by people thinking I was weird for trying all kind of experiments. In the end I just want to have fun, and I’m incredibly grateful that my hard work has finally compounded and now I can play and get paid for it.
Ok I’m a bit emotional now, and I’m getting late for my second race of the day with my wife. This one is just for fun. Woohoo!

I'm selling my body.
On September 19th, I'm competing in my first HYROX race in Turkey.
You can advertise your startup on 10 of my muscles:
- Your website is listed on hyrox.marclou.com
- Your logo will be tattooed on my body on race day
- I'll share it on my YouTube and X accounts
Bidding starts at $1,000.
Each takeover doubles the price: $1,000 → $2,000 → $4,000.
If outbid, you’re refunded minus the Stripe fee.
Bidding closes on Thursday the 10th at midnight UTC (in 2 days), so I have enough time to print the winning tattoos.

As a mobile dev, I’m constantly stuck on one question:
“What should I build?”
Because whatever idea comes to mind, someone has already built it
The market feels saturated
But I’m done overthinking it
Common ASO mistakes that quietly kill great apps:
• Chasing broad keywords like "fitness app" or "productivity" instead of owning long-tail keywords.
• Writing the iOS description for search engines instead of convincing humans to download.
🤖 Made with AI
• Not responding to user reviews. Every reply is a chance to improve trust and earn a higher rating.
• Ignoring App Store conversion rate. Better screenshots and messaging can improve both installs and rankings.
• Treating ASO as a launch checklist instead of a continuous optimization loop.
• Skipping localization Some of your biggest growth opportunities may be in less competitive markets
• Celebrating keyword rankings instead of tracking installs and conversion
• Uploading screenshots with only UI and no clear value-focused captions.
• Ignoring screenshot text—it can contribute to discoverability through OCR.
• Setting metadata once and never revisiting it. ASO is an ongoing process.
Everyone wants overnight success
Almost nobody wants to ship every day for a year
The app you build today
The post you publish today
The bug you fix today
They all compound
Keep shipping
Today's bug:
App Store Connect kept rejecting my In-App Purchase Review Information Screenshot with:
"The dimensions of one or more screenshots are wrong."
My image matched Apple's official screenshot dimensions (1320×2868).
