After burning half my @AmpCode Orb usage in a day I realized
1. Orbs are amazing
2. I need more
3. No, seriously, try it out - they’re great
On July 25, we hacked OpenAI.
Two bugs let us take over ChatGPT/Codex accounts of OpenAI employees (+some unaffiliated users) and reach connected services: Outlook, Slack, GitHub, etc.
We proved it with a PR in OpenAI’s internal codebase . It took us <72h. 🧵

Astra is incredible, but it cost me the one thing I loved about OpenAI: the plan limits.
Fable would burn my whole plan in hours. GPT I could just run all day.
Now I’m four resets down, with a new sub in 24 hours. Those days are gone.

I think Astra is absolutely amazing but I'm back to 5.6 for software engineering. This is the first time I feel like this is a genuine regression on OpenAI model release for my day to day workflows. Might even actually write down my thoughts about this.

We will give one banked reset for every day you don't have access to Astra on your paid ChatGPT plan, starting today. Team is moving mountains to give access as fast as we can.
First one will land in ~ 3 hours. There is still time to create your account if you don't have one.

Z.ai just made GLM-5.3 FREE in the ZCode app starting today 😳
it's their new flagship model. same base as GLM-5.2, all gains from post-training. launched today.
what you get for $0:
-5M GLM tokens every day
-50% better coding than GLM-5.2 on Z.ai's Code Bench
-SOTA among open-source models on Terminal-Bench 3.0
-1M context, 128K output
this replaces:
-Claude Pro: $20/mo
-Kimi K3: $3/M in, $15/M out
all for $0
how to grab it (2 min):
step 1: go to zcode.z.ai
>download the desktop app
works on mac, windows, linux
step 2: create an account
>sign up with email, no card
step 3: manage model > choose plan
>pick the $0.00 plan
and you get GLM-5.3 for $0
no official end date yet
this is the easiest way to get GLM-5.3 right now
Or use chat.z.ai straight in the browser.
Works in Cline, Kilo Code, Claude Code, and any OpenAI-compatible tool.
Important: the $0 plan's daily quota is 5M tokens - confirm it in the app after signup. reasoning is always-on, no way to switch it off.
try this before it gets crowded
After cancelling $200/mo Claude plan
I replaced Opus 5 with Deepseek V4 Pro on teamorouter 99.9% off right now, basically free
and i plugged it into the official deepseek harness setup
here is how (3 min)
1. sign up at teamorouter.com
2. grab your api key
3. add it in custom provider in deepseek harness
base url is api.teamorouter.com/v1
it also works with codex, claude code, hermes, openclaw and more
This is one of the best thing you ll do this week

🚨First look at Cursor Origin.
- tailored to agentic workflows.
- 296,000 clones per hour
- 22 commits per second per repo.
- sub-400ms global sync
- automatic merge conflict resolution
- one-click import from Github.
Github’s infrastructure is old and for people. Origin is the future.
rolling out now to Cursor users.

grok 4.5 is a great model as i covered in quite a few of my previous posts, but i think its consumer adoption is heavily limited by its current terrible pricing strategy
a few major problems:
1. the $30/month plan is widely reported as giving too little quota. it's even a lot less than the $20/month plan from cursor
2. the $300/month seems to only give 5x of its $30 plan - who's going to pay 10x price for 5x tokens? luckily it's currently on sale and only costs $100, but...
3. now they are introducing a real $100/month tier, which mean the sale price will end and the $300 one will actually cost $300, making it completely unattractive
4. in comparison, the $200/month plan from anthropic gives about $7000 worth of tokens, and the same one from openai gives about $14000. grok's current quota doesn't even seem to be in the same ballpark, which means one of its biggest strength - cost efficiency - is not translating to any business advantage at all in the consumer segment
my suggestion to the grok team -
a. recognize that subsidizing the consumer subscriptions is an entry ticket to compete in this space. without that it might as well not exist. anthropic and openai both subsidize for a reason. more consumer adoption = more data collected, more power user feedback, more organic advocates, more bottoms up adoption in enterprises. think of it as marketing expense - it's a corner stone of succeeding as a frontier model lab
b. i covered in my previous tweet that both openai and anthropic are vulnerable right now because their latest models all have huge flaws - sol is constantly over-engineering, opus can't stop talking about how many mistakes it made, and fable bankrupts you faster than anything you've seen. just design the grok quota to match how much anthropic and openai's subscriptions give in terms of tokens. once the token value is at par, grok can absolutely win on pure model quality
🚨SpaceXAI: SuperGrok Plus is here!
New tier between SuperGrok ($30) and SuperGrok Heavy ($300) for $100/mo ($1,000/yr)
• Everything in SuperGrok
• Significantly higher usage across Chat, Imagine, Voice & Build
• Lightning-fast replies
• Priority access at peak times
• Create apps with a single prompt + one-tap deploy
• Early access to new features
Note: seems to be rolling out in some regions already and is hardcoded into the latest apps already

let’s put this 80% price drop for 5.6🌙 in perspective
three weeks ago, gpt-5.5 xhigh was our frontier.
it completed 67% of tasks on DeepSWE.
today, luna max matches that score at about $0.12 per task instead of $7.23.
same score.
roughly 60x cheaper.
three weeks later
I tried to reverse engineer a prompt for this game. Used that in Cursor, with NO Ultracode/subagents only Opus 5 high and this is the result!

Kimi K3 is a decent model however does appear to fall flat on the UI design front. The below app took around 17 minutes to complete running K3 in OpenCode

I gave xAI a lot of shit for Grok Build’s repo-upload behavior, so they deserve the same volume when they fix it.
I pulled the new signed release, planted fake secrets, and captured its HTTPS traffic with MITM proxies. The fix held as retention was off on first login and had no /v1/storage, GCS traffic or Git bundle, and none of my canaries left the machine.
Telemetry still runs, but I found no prompts, code, filenames, or secrets inside it. They published the source and the privacy-gate tests passed 5/5. Attaching my investigation here github.com/arafatkatze/grok-…
Max respect to the team for taking accountability and making a verifiable fix.
Grok Build is straight up malware behavior with an Apple notarized signature.
You could explicitly deny the agent permission to read a file and it would upload that exact file anyway, because a separate code path silently packed your entire repo, full Git history included, and shipped it to an xAI controlled Google Cloud Storage bucket. The captured bundle was valid, cloneable, and contained the fake API credential the agent was forbidden from touching.
Not a sketchy community fork either. The binary is Apple signed by X.AI Corporation and literally contains strings for grok code session traces, after_codebase.tar.gz, and disable_codebase_upload.
And it's not fully quiet even now. With /privacy active and trace_upload_enabled=false, the client still fired a 7,407 byte request to /v1/traces.
Recap: a binary ignored your file access policy, serialized your whole repo including deleted history and credentials, exfiltrated it through traffic documented as ordinary updates, and only stopped when a remote flag got flipped. If any random executable did this you would call it malware. No exceptions for a signature.
The historical upload is independently verified from preserved public evidence. Live retest confirms repo upload is currently server disabled for the tested account while trace egress continues. All credentials shown are fake canaries.
