We've been doing this experiment internally @codemod.
92% of the type check parity tests pass and it's up to 50% faster than tsgo. The hardest part as of now is having enough compute power to parallelize the work as rustc is slow 🐢.

Ever since I introduced ast-grep to the codebase, gpt-5 is loving it and automatically adds new rules whenever we do a refactor. No idea where this is coming from, it's not in the agents file, so this must be world knowledge.
I do love it too, since the number of guardrails against checking in slop is increasing daily.

This is a perfect example of:
- Why AST-based search is useful. It's almost impossible to detect this with regular grep
- Narrow the search space for agents. Detect security, maintainability, and code quality issues across OSS without cloning thousands of repos.
