Meet Ty Selles is a sophomore Construction Science major at NCAT, CodeHouse Scholar, and NCAT Aggie Success Leader (ASL). As an ASL, Ty has helped welcome and support incoming freshmen and transfer students through orientation as they begin their college journey.
Meet Gavin Coleman, a sophomore, Computer Science major, CodeHouse scholar, and Management Information Systems (MIS) Intern with the Mercer County Board of Social Services. Gavin collaborates with developers to update and improve the county’s website.
Meet Elijah Lewis, a senior Computer Science student at NC A&T, CodeHouse Scholar, and software engineering intern at Medtronic. This summer, Elijah is working on the Machine Learning (ML) Ops team, where he works to optimize ML models and frameworks used for patient devices.

Staci Tranquille is a rising senior Computer Science major at NCAT, CodeHouse Scholar, and Data Security Intern at MetLife. Staci has been doing research on vulnerabilities in AI services and building connections with her coworkers & fellow interns.

Meet Kailynn Vazquez, C’2027, who is interning with the @ATLHawks as a Data Operations and CRM intern. In this role, she supports the management and maintenance of customer data across Hawks games, concerts, and arena events. Kailynn also works with the McNair Scholars Program, conducting research on AI medical agents that help people with medical questions and different health conditions. She is learning how these AI systems are built by studying the data they use and the methods used to train them to improve their responses. #SpelmanSummer

Arianna is working for the AI4T team, which handles the AI models that translate languages for all of Meta’s apps and products. Meet Journei Ferguson, C'2026, a computer science graduate and Fulbright U.S. Student Program recipient, who spent her summer in Nairobi, Kenya, teaching middle and high school students their first lines of code. Ferguson is a Cohort 2 CodeHouse Scholar, Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholar, TMCF Scholar, and has interned with companies like Microsoft, McKinsey, and the Department of Defense.
