consider dumping your american ai stocks. not only are they in a bubble, but regulations are a double edged sword. in much the same way that we outsource labor, we will start outsourcing our use of ai as the costs rise domestically because of cartelization.
every time I hear about the confiscation of elon's wealth because he has so much, I'm reminded who has far more in liquid wealth than elon
The measure of Elon's wealth is absolutely misleading. It is a useful metric for comparing against other wealthy people, but it is not useful to compare to other things, like solving world hunger, etc.
Let's say you and I had apple orchards of differing varieties and we wanted to compare them, we could look at how many apples our orchards produce over 20 years and price them in today's dollars. This could allow me to say for example that my orchard is worth billions more than yours. You could look at those billions and say that those apples could feed the homeless and that I am greedy for not using them as such. The obvious problem with this is, those apples are not all available today, it is value that is produced overtime that is being measured and not it's immediate value.
So why is this the same as Elon's wealth? If Elon's assets were sold immediately, it would crash the market value of those assets and Elon would get far less for them, in addition he may not be able to sell all of them because the market demand is simply not there for them. In much the same way that there is not enough apples to feed everyone at a given time, there are not enough buyers of Elon's assets even at a high discount, though some may go into debt. So if the government confiscated his wealth they would be faced with the same issue of if they confiscated an apple orchard and come to realize there were never enough apples to feed everyone.
Someone's net worth is simply an accounting trick that is useful in some comparisons but completely useless in others.
people like this I would ask to rewrite their posts/memes without using the loaded words like 'capitalism' or 'socialism'

It's funny how, afaik, there are no real limits and violations of privacy over a fund to lobby for the impeachment of trump
I don't know why everyone focuses on what trump or vance are saying when they are not in charge. We should all be curious as to what netanyahu has to say, what deal he wants to make, if any
interesting thought experiment. imagine if it were 1 cent instead of $1000, would you still choose both boxes? you would be paying 1 cent for a chance to get $1m. now imagine that $1000 would not make much impact in your life, then $1000 would be no difference than walking away with nothing. that hits at marginal utility and subjective value.

I shared ai son's of liberty what glenn beck's ai generated george said, they got hyped, dressed like indians and for some reason started throwing bagels over the side of a boat. who are the loyalist george mentioned we are surrounded by?

Zeno's paradox with Chinese Characteristics, Or ZhuangZi's paradox with Greek characteristics?
government's seem to focus on consequence management instead of changing policies that caused the problems to begin with.
this is because that is where power and profit leads them.
it's a sin to not use your god given brain or to pretend that you are when you are just repeating what others have told you
the party of law and order has increasingly been cheering on the breaking of the supreme law of the land 🤣
he is right, but then people will think they just need to vote in the right spenders, when the problem is much deeper than that, the state doesn't have the incentive nor the knowledge to spend wisely, they can just use guns to increase revenue

The problem isn’t the taxes. USSR had no billionaires and had a nearly 100% effective tax rate, and it still failed. The problem is the spending. Dollars spent by the state that do not produce a meaningful economic surplus are dollars wasted. If enough of them are wasted and a crisis hits the fan, there is no economic basis to absorb the shock.
The stupid high speed rail, $20b spent and nothing that could be sold for anything anywhere near $20b+ was built. Do that over and over and you get Russia in the 90s. All the smart and kind people leave, and you are left with the smart and vicious people ready to take advantage of the crumbling political environment.
