If you're a Nigerian developer, whether you're just starting out or you've been building for years, there's so much you can build and learn with homegrown technologies 🇳🇬❤️
We have:
🇳🇬 @Dbrij_hq & @pxxl_space instead of Vercel for hosting.
🇳🇬 @StackshiftCloud for VPS hosting and management, as an alternative to providers like Hostinger and tools like Coolify.
🇳🇬 @Dbrij_hq & @sendly_ai_ instead of Resend for business and transactional emails.
🇳🇬 @cencori instead of OpenRouter and Cloudflare AI Gateway for AI model access and management.
🇳🇬 Sabilytics.com instead of Google Analytics and DataFast for website analytics.
🇳🇬 @OutRayTunnel for tunnelling local services, as an alternative to tools like ngrok and Cloudflare Tunnel.
🇳🇬 @Bachs_hq for international payments, as an alternative to Stripe.
And these are just the ones I can remember right now!
I'm not saying you must stop using international tools.
I'm saying we have people right here building alternatives worth trying, supporting, and contributing to. With better local pricing that fits us.
I know I'm missing so many other products.
What other Nigerian-built products and their global alternatives should be on this list?
Drop them in the replies! 👇
And if you're building something in Nigeria or anywhere across Africa, please submit your project to Africa Is Building so more people can discover what you're working on ❤️

A Lady named Victoria shared:
How to email CEO and business owners on LinkedIn or any platform.
Please save this if you're a student looking for internship or a graduate looking for a job.
If you're an African looking for a job on LinkedIn, please stop leaving your career to the algorithm.
200 connections are not enough.
And posting every day won't magically get you a job.
Here's what many LinkedIn coaches won't tell you:
Your network matters as much as your content.
Who are the people in your network?
Are they recruiters?
Hiring managers?
People working in your target industry?
People who can refer you when an opportunity comes up?
You need to understand the demographics of your network.
Having 200 connections is one thing. Having 2,000 connections who work in your target industry is another.
The goal isn't just to grow your numbers. It's to build a network that gives you access to opportunities.
Yes, keep posting. Build your personal brand. Share your knowledge.
But don't stop there.
Connect with the right people. Engage with them. Build genuine relationships. Let people know what you do.
Stop leaving your career to the algorithm. Build a network that can open doors for you.

That's the beauty of building on top of @bachs_hq and a little engineering on my end 😂❤️
Bachs provides instant NGN settlement, making payments available without the usual settlement delays.
Buy Me a Malt handles the experience around receiving support, tracking balances and requesting withdrawals.
Once your payment is verified and your balance is available, you can request a withdrawal.
I wanted Buy Me a Malt to make receiving appreciation as easy as giving it ❤️
This is exactly why I keep rooting for infrastructure that makes building and earning easier for Nigerians.

Let me make one thing crystal clear real quick: if you ever see me post a job opportunity, best believe it’s a 100% open field. I don't play that game of posting a role when I already have someone in mind just to look charitable. And I def don't waste people's energy with fake job opportunities.
If I already know who is doing the job, it will never make it online.
Case in point: I’m currently working on a brand identity project for an international client, and at some point he'll need a website designer to redesign the existing one. If and when he gives the go-ahead for the website design, you won't see a public job post from me because I already have someone in mind for the role. The person is in my network, and they'll simply get a direct DM from me.
So, if I post about a potential job opportunity, best believe that I don't have any particular person in mind and the door is open for anyone to pull up and apply.
If it’s not, then it’s being handled in the background. Simple.
Yesterday I posted that I am hiring for a UI/UX design role, and I got 300+ comments and 100+ DMs (across X and LinkedIn). And one thing this proved to me is that applying for jobs alone in 2026 is no longer enough. You're competing with so many people.
Now more than ever, Building Relationships is a must. It's a cheat code. You gats connect with people if you want to land opportunities. Because a solid recommendation or a warm intro will land you a job 10x faster than cold applications ever will.
Remember, skills get you in front of the door, but relationships open the door and get you in the room.
Who you know still matters fr.

If you’re a Nigerian developer interested in cybersecurity, NITDA currently has a 48-hour hackathon coming up in Abuja.
₦10M+ prize pool.
Teams of 2–5.
Tracks include fintech, financial inclusion and other digital-economy problems.
It’s happening October 27–28 and it’s open to Nigerian citizens.
Even if you don’t win, things like this can give you something much stronger to talk about than another tutorial project.

Well, I built it! 🥳🥤
Introducing Buy Me a Malt 🍻
A simple way for people to support your work, appreciate your effort, or just buy you a malt.
Whether you're a creator, developer, designer, or someone who simply deserves a little appreciation, you can create your own page and start receiving support.
No complicated setup. Just create your page, share your link, and let people show you some love.
Built entirely on @Dbriij's infrastructure, from domain, hosting, database, emailing, to asset storage.
Payments powered by @BachsHQ (of course ❤️).
Give it a try: buymeamalt.com
And yes, you can buy me a malt too, please! 😂

Should I just build "Buy Me a Malt" powered by @bachs_hq, so Nigerian creators can receive support without all the payment integration wahala? 👀🥤
I built it for myself on Naija Radio, and now I'm thinking, why not make it available to everyone? 🤔

It’s a bit crazy to think that you need to register a US company just to accept international card payments as a developer in Africa
That’s one of the things we set out to change when we started building Bachs
Where you’re from shouldn’t determine whether you can sell to the world!
With Bachs you can accept international card payments from 135+ currencies without a US company or USD bank account and get settled in Naira, 20+ other fiat currencies or Stablecoins!
If you’ve ever struggled to access Stripe, Polar, Lemon Squeezy or Dodo Payments because of where you’re based, give @bachs_hq a try
Build from anywhere. Get paid globally.

Bro, what you built is a gold mine.
I am launching 2 products this month, and payments are all around Bachs.
To use Stripe, one has to incorporate in the US or in accepted countries, and now it's just Bachs.
Thank you

The fastest way to get a reply or grab someone's attention on LinkedIn is to ask questions.
People love talking about what they know.
Instead of sending a long message about yourself, ask a thoughtful question that makes it easy for them to respond.
Sometimes, one good question can open a door that a hundred cold messages couldn't.
Important announcement , we've been building this for a while🚨
If you're building a marketplace, SaaS product or any platform that needs to collect payments from customers, this one's for you.
We know that building a seamless payment collection experience can get complicated, especially when every customer needs their own account to send money to.
So we launched NGN Virtual Accounts 🎊
With Bachs Connect, you can now create dedicated NGN virtual accounts for your customers without having to build the underlying banking infrastructure yourself. Every account gives your customers a way to send money, while your platform can receive payment events and track incoming deposits.
Here's what you can build with it:
- Give every customer their own NGN account for payments.
- Build payment collection experiences directly into your platform.
- Receive and track customer deposits as they come in.
- Create better payment flows for marketplaces, Fintechs and SaaS products.
You focus on building a product people love. We'll help you handle the payment infrastructure behind it.

Everyone is shipping with the mindset that once their product hits the market, users will embrace it and it will take off.
Yes, we’ve all been there.
Your idea will always look unique to you. But have you taken the time to speak to potential customers and find out if they actually need what you’re building?
Don’t build based on what you think people will love. Build based on what customers actually want.
Your excitement about an idea is not proof of market demand.
