“But I heard the videogame strike was over” “But I heard it was just Formosa and it’s been resolved” “But I heard-“ There’s lots of misinformation about the strike. What matters is what you’re not hearing - the voices of actors who are still striking. sagaftra.org/contracts-indus…

NAVA Announcement: NAVA has commissioned a Synthetic Voice/AI rider, or addendum, that we feel addresses the current concerns that voice actors have regarding the use of AI and Synthetic voices. This rider is available for download and use.

Judaism is a religion as well as an ethnicity. there are people who descend from Jews but do not practice the religion and visa versa it’s what’s known as an “ethnoreligious group” en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jews

Absolutely not. Without any room for misinterpretation: leave Anjali alone. They are an incredible actor and person. Keep that shit to yourself. POC have enough bs to deal with, without the delusional attacks of those who can’t separate us from our characters. This is abhorrent.
We started off okay since I announced Dori but unfortunately that didn’t last long. DMs are closed, you guys. For folks who’ve been kind throughout, I appreciate you. Actors are not their characters, at the end of the day.

LA VO peeps that are working in studio. Hospitalizations are high enough so that all employees in studios are required to be masked. #voiceover #covidsafety

Plea to VO Twitter. If people are posting auditions or demo requests. Maybe don’t retweet or boost til you have more info and know the rates. You are allowing newer actors to get taken advantage of. They are just excited for the opportunity and the companies are counting on that

I’m Covid positive, make everyone you hang out with test even if they are asymptomatic and always mask. With infection rates this high, and many not masking even if your loved ones always mask, they may catch it and give it to you.

Hi all! Emotions are high right now. Remember that those we interact with online are real people. Let’s not assume negative intentions. I actually think we all want the same things. A safe working environment & pay that’s commensurate with the success of industry.

so, this was interesting. pretty basic nuts and bolts stuff about how dubbing works under a SAG-AFTRA contract. Seems evident that more anime dubs should be organized, as the rates in TX are too low! I hope @codaunite's work gains traction.

No actor wants to air this kind of laundry, because many of the studios who book anime also book video games and other projects, but this is why you haven't seen me in any anime since 2020 - I had to break up with the art I loved because the % of income vs % of time was so bad.
The Crunchyroll merger has created the largest and most powerful anime company outside of Japan. Yet, pay rates for dubbing are among the lowest in the acting business, and the problem is even worse in anime. animenewsnetwork.com/feature…

I would love to work on more union Anime Dubs! I miss it and my fans miss me in anime as well. Since @Funimation & @Crunchyroll are now merging, whaddya think @SonyPictures @SPTV? Can we get more union dubs? @sagaftra has a new 2021 Union dubbing agreement.

Lots of people outside the VO industry are arguing that they believe $35 to $75 an hour to dub anime is an incredible rate. Here's a thread as to why that rate is incredible low in terms of voice acting.

When the existing dub voice talents aren’t included with #AudioDescription, it’s like going to Broadway play expecting a full cast, but it’s a one person show … 😣 One or two voices “reading subtitles” isn’t the immersive experience that the pro dubbing talents provide.

And while we are chatting about #anime acting. Shout out to all the dub actors out there. It’s the hardest work for the lowest pay. And some of the most judgey fans (majority are the BEST tho, just a very vocal minority of aholes) #dublove 1/2
