part of the media literacy crisis is definitely treating subversion as if it automatically equals inherently good without any further thought

words have definitions. that means, if you can take something that's not a word and make it into a word, you get to make up whatever definition you want, and it doesn't actually have to have anything to do with the original referent

like i try to be scholarly and objective about it but it genuinely gets to a point of being frustrating that people just get to straight up lie and pretend that there is any widespread social treatment of women as Good, and not only that, but so much so that its a big big problem
