2027 TE | True Hybrid Tight End Physical blocker from anywhere on the field — out wide, in the slot, or attached. Physical through the whistle, sharp route runner, and a playmaker with the ball in my hands. Line me up anywhere. I’ll make plays‼️ Film- hudl.com/v/2UF0AU

The exact same as running a mile to get in better shape for a sport. That sport isn’t cross country…
"I did lunges around the building" Why? "To do something hard." How many lunges do you think that was? "A few hundred" How hard could they be if you could do hundreds of them at once? "Not very?" Doing something easy again and again doesn't make it hard, just tiring.

Want to start teaching your athletes how to Olympic Lift? Sweet. First thing, ask yourself, can they: Overhead Squat? Front Squat? Overhead Press? Snatch Deadlift? If they can’t do any of the 4 above. Start with teaching those lifts first. Foundation starts there.

The cheat code to long term success in high school strength & conditioning is simple: Invest into your middle school program

To say that an exercise is too technical or too difficult to teach seems awfully lazy to me. I feel like it comes down to programming with a short term and long term goal in mind and making the right adjustments as you go.

How many of you are consistently tracking Relative Strength Index? What are you typically doing with that information?

“The Winning Equation” 🏈 S + T - X = W Sacks + Turnovers - Explosive Plays = Wins. Championship defense isn’t complicated… it’s built on discipline, fundamentals, effort and eliminating big plays. If you can create negative plays, take the football away and force offenses to drive the length of the field consistently, the odds shift heavily in your favor. One sack can change an entire drive. One turnover can change momentum. One explosive play allowed can change a game. The mission every day: Hunt the football. Eliminate explosives. Finish drives. 🔗: thefbcoachgibbs.com/ 📺: youtube.com/@coachgibbsdefen…

Just because you don’t agree with something, doesn’t mean you should demonize it. 99% of the time there is a reason it is being done and failing to understand that reason to just blindly hate is close minded. Don’t agree? Ask why they do it or move on.

An argument the anti-Olympic lift crowd can’t counter: The Kobe method. Stat nerds will tell you that he’s not even top 15 because of some lame advanced metric. But I don’t care, because Kobe was sick. Now watch Rad rip under 255. You know deep in your heart that it’s sick.

DB Jumps and Power Cleans (or any Olympic lifts) can in fact exist in the same program. Crazy. I know.

Being a HS S&C, I get the pleasure of hearing kids talk about all the expensive supplements and recovery tools they have or are looking into. Interestingly enough these are the same kids who get ~4-5 hours of sleep and wear it as a badge of honor. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Here’s a thought: If you’re commenting on someone else’s posts about lifting or coaching, but you don't actually do either, just keep scrolling. It’s incredibly easy to call someone out when you’ve got zero skin in the game.

I tested trap bar jumps vs. power cleans at 225 this morning to see if the arguments were true that trap bar jumps are superior. Overall, the findings showed me that they are similar but power clean has a higher output on a greater ROM

Tracking strength KPIs as well as speed & explosion KPIs in S&C are great. Especially at the HS level. But I still firmly believe that attendance is the top KPI for HS. If attendance sucks, then do so all other KPIs and it gives you as the coach a lesser data set to work with.

Olympic lifts should be included in all HS S&C programs & here’s why: 1. Teaches athletes to express force under load 2. Creates hyper awareness of body control 3. Promotes flexibility & mobility 4. College S&C programs use them Doesn’t have to be a staple but should be used

This. We need more of this.
A reminder to all S&C coaches… Just because another coach does things differently to you, that doesn’t necessarily mean either of you are wrong. Don’t be insecure & attack someone because they do things differently to you. Ask questions. Have a discussion, not an argument.
